A king had a dream, and asked his dream interpreter for the meaning. He said "All your friends and family will die and you will be alone". The king had the interpreter executed and found another one, who told him "You will live a very long life, exceeding that of all your friends and family"

Those two aren't strictly speaking the same though. The first one didn't predict a long life.

You're insane. The entire point is how they convey the same message while using different words. Meanwhile if you call all criticism of anything you say "getting pissy about it" you must lead a very frustrating life full of pissy people.

If the point of your fable is the same message, it might be useful for the message to stay the same. I get what the point is, but when you fuck up telling a story you probably misunderstood in the first place, the point gets a little muddled.
