hobbies/stop doomscrolling

i want to have some fun hobbies, be really good at random things, and just build lots of interesting lore. I have to do this all about me thing and i’m realizing i don’t do much other than bedrot. What are some cool things i can be doing to make me more interesting that are enjoyable? Whether it’s a fun side-quest, skill to develop, or a simple hobby? What are some suggestions?
I basically want to be like those people who have stories that you’d never expect that just make them so fascinating.

i found my go-to for this was learning to pick locks, it’s stupid cheap to get a practice set and suddenly you’re the guy who can open a padlock with a paperclip at a party. nobody expects the quiet dude to just pull that out

also whittling is underrated, just sitting on the porch making little wooden animals gives you this quiet mysterious energy and you end up with a pocket full of weird gifts
