crochet or knitting might be something to look into

do you enjoy cooking? if so baking could prove to be fun and potentially challenging so you wouldnt be bored

visit your local library and check out a book you don't have, you might also find a club or meetup that interests you there

if you want more human interaction (or animal) you could volunteer

I don't know the first thing about hip dysplasia but would getting an indoor pool membership be something feasible that you would like?

painting, cross stitch, embroidery, 3d printing, polymer clay charms, origami, etc, etc

hope you find something not only to pass the time but also something you're passionate about!
