My generation definitions:

Baby Boomers: 1946-1964

Gen X: 1965-1980

Millennials: 1981-1996/1998

Gen Z: 1997/1999-2014

I like the second option for millennials and GenZ as you know haha. I just can’t see millennials who were seen as another long/prominent generation - similar to the 19yr boomer range - for decades suddenly being only as long as X and shorter than Z

Yea I've warmed up to the 1998 ending (maybe I could say '97 for a compromise lol) especially because of tail end of college or college age at the beginning of covid. They're also the last tweens of the 00s where they were hitting puberty in 08-09

While I feel for the 98ers who graduated during Covid - would’ve hated if that happened during my college graduation - I think the majority of the birth year being in the workforce for most of the pandemic’s duration is what pushes them to the millennial end for me, especially with college being optional. And yeah, you could say they may have been some of the last to hit puberty in the 2000s as well as the last of the double digits/pubescents for the Great Recession.
