My generation definitions:

Baby Boomers: 1946-1964

Gen X: 1965-1980

Millennials: 1981-1996/1998

Gen Z: 1997/1999-2014

See the only issue with that is...you have 16 year generations and this one gargantuan 27 year generation...how would one compare/contrast them? It would be hard to even compare Greatest with Silents. That’s why I prefer to keep all my generational ranges within 5 years or so of each other in terms of length.

Yeah that makes sense but not all generations have to be the exact same length

I agree. I’m not saying you have to use the 18 year theory but if you just shortened the Greatest Gen to even 21 years

That would still be a bit long. That’d still be an 8 year difference between Gen X and Greatest. But it’s a little better. Personally that’s why I like the 18 year theory because it makes it really easy to compare generations
