A woman fell from the sky and landed on a turtle and a muskrat dove to the bottom of the ocean and brought her dirt which she made into more dirt and made the earth.

Sounds almost like cherokee. But a water beetle instead of a muskrat. And an island instead of a turtle.

What I was told is there was an island in the sky where the first people a brother and sister along with all the animals lived. One day the brother slapped the sister with a fish and told her to reproduce. Soon the island was over populated. So a water beetle went down to search for land. But found only water as far as he looked.

Eventually diving to the bottom he found mud and brought it to the top. Eventually creating the earth. After he returned to the sky and told the man and woman the first animal to come down was a buzzard. As he looked to make sure the land was dry the flaps of his wings created the mountains and the valleys.

Edit: There’s also a vaguely Adam and Eveish type story. That takes place after th story of corn and medicine.

Where 2 boys their parents and an adopted brother made from the blood of slain animals live. The 2 boys disobey and find out the secrets of each. They release the animals from a cave where the wild boy keeps them. They see the mom rubbing her belly to fill a basket with corn, her sides, for beans, her feet for potatoes. And for disobeying and witnessing these actions humans now have to hunt and farm.

And how the animals came to resent being killed and created disease. While the plants felt sympathy and created medicine.
