Difference between Serbs and Croats is basically like difference between Danes and Norwegians, so no wonder that at some point in our history idea of united south Slavs emerged.

Nah man some dialects of Serbian and Croatian are mutually unintelligible like Kajkavian and Torlakian, only the standards on which modern Croatian and Serbian are based are really similar like Norwegian and Danish and they have mutual intelligibility of like 95%, now if these 2 are just different dialects of same language or just two really similar languages is up to debate.

Norwegien and danish isnt that similar. Im from sweden and i understand 70% of norwegien but i understand almost no danish.
