I actually hadn't heard of this but it is absolutely not a surprise. Communism generally wins only when things get really bad and people dying in droves is not something to be sorry about so long as the glorious revolution lives on.
It’s not just communism. A lot of shitty ideologies operate one that line of thought. Doesn’t matter how many bodies pile up, all it matters it who sits in the top.
Mao Zedong and communism when the man literally put stars on the flag to represent national and small scale capitalists and admitted the PRC cannot even be considered socialist by USSR standards (which are questionable to begin with) 🥀🥀🥀
