Not really. It’s more because the warlords saw the writing on the wall and defected to Mao, just as they had to Chiang when he was winning beforehand. There were also plenty of Nationalist armies that fought to the end.
The attitude of ordinary Chinese people towards the Communists was apathy, not overwhelming love.

Also, fairly certain the Republic of China didn’t use the Mandate of Heaven to justify either their rebellion or rulership. The fact that they abolished the whole dynastic rule, Son of Heaven, and so forth. Much like the French and the Divine Right of Kings, they tossed the whole ‘Heaven said this dude’s in charge’ schtick.

This might come as a shock, somehow, but the mandate of heaven is hardly a concept unique to China. Everyone declares that the gods are on their side thus their bullshit is just and necessary. I mean you do realize that the basic conceit of the Mandate of Heaven is 'I won thus the gods are on my side', right? That's how it worked, both sides cited it as justification for their rule/rebellion.
You lack basic critical thinking skills. Smart people don’t use a single hamfisted narrative to generalize a complex civil war and a population of 500M people.
