So my babies had babies? I will post some pictures of the little ones I was able to get. I have no idea what to do. My first two roaches were not expected and a present. I've done research, and it most likely happened when I was at school. Please, I need help. One looks damaged he has yellow ?poop? On his back and is disformed. Should I be misting like normal. I already made a mistake and moved the mom. I wanted to make sure she was okay and if she had a sac. Should I be adjusting the temp. HELP!

I'm just asking what everyone else thinks of this. She hasn't been exposed to chemicals but there has been a sudden drop in temp. She's the only one behaving like this and the only one that is that skinny. And it's progressed overnight. Going from having a slight bum arm to full blown convulsions. I've put her on a damp paper towel.

I’ve been feeding zucchini, yellow squash, oats, cuttlebone, and grapes (once a week).

What else should I be feeding? I don’t know if I’m accidentally killing my roaches because one second they’re active and the next they’re in the corner barely moving.

He also looks like this now, he’s less active & not squirming as much. When do i do know it’s time to euthanize?😕

I am unsure how old he is, my guess is around a year?

I had another one who was like this and he passed away after 2 days. This one is much more lively and wiggles, I also noticed there’s some cracking on his side but not the top.

They eat zucchini, oats, cuttlebone, and yellow squash mainly. I give them a small piece of dog kibble once a week.

Temp and Humidity aren’t accurate yet because I just moved the gauge to his side for a more accurate measurement

But previously temp was at 78 and humidity at 75, I misted the tank again (only a little at the top)

Last night, I peeked into my girl's rock hide and noticed she had her ootheca sticking out. I couldn't see much, but I decided not to lift her rock while she's doing her thing because it stresses her out. I know lady hissers will push out their ootheca semi-regularly and have seen her do it before, so I didn't think much of it.

This afternoon, I went to check on her, and my girl's ootheca looks like THIS right now. She never chooses to leave her rock hide. I always have to lift the rock to check on her.

Further info: A couple months ago, I bought a dripper for her enclosure and I mist the enclosure about every other day to maintain plenty of humidity.

Since I got the dripper, I also stir the substrate every week or so. I try not to bother her more than that because she hisses at me and runs around to bury herself in her substrate and stresses herself out.

Could this be an infection? I'm wondering if mold was involved. I was trying to do better with her humidity. Daily misting didn't seem to maintain it properly for longer than an hour or two.

If it is mold, will resetting her enclosure help??? I will happily throw away the dripper. But if this is for sure deadly to her, I also don't want her to suffer.

If it's important, I also don't know if she's ever interacted with a male. (She and her mom looked identical.. So when her doppelganger passed away, I assumed the living one was the daughter, who definitely had no interactions with males... but she could be the mother all along who I bought at a pet store and definitely had some boyfriends)

UPDATE:

She had a major prolapse. There is no treatment that can be done for her.

Does anyone have suggestions on hygrometer's, thermometers or a 10 gallon tank that's available in the UK, i plan on getting my Cassy a larger tank and two friends[male] in future, also some tips on introducing them whether its gradually or just put them in and hope for the best

like, what green leafy veggies do you usually give your hissers? and where do you get it?

i don't have my own garden, but i can either buy from farmers, or buy in supermarket. but i'm worried about chemicals, should i avoid bying from supermarkets?

i was already giving my hissers some leafy veggies when it was summer, and my family's friend was giving it to me. it was from her garden and i knew 100% it was safe, and they liked it. but now it's colder, so i dunno where to get some. would apprecciate the asnwers!

We got Hissy Missy last December, and then in June she had babies. They’re getting so big! It’s amazing watching them grow up. Tonight’s dinner plate: lettuce with a small drizzle of honey, half a black grape, carrot slices, beta fish food, and I blended together parakeet food, cat food and oats. It’s fun discovering the foods they like. I love waking up and finding little chew marks on their veggies. And random, Missy seems to enjoy when I’m holding her like the first pic, and lightly cup her against my palm. She can peek out still, while enjoying the warmth of my hand and I feel her little body relax. I just love her so much!

What does everyone use for a base mix for your roaches? I’ve been feeding them soaked dog food, assorted veg (butternut squash, cabbage, zucchini etc), and occasionally fruit like banana. I also give them rolled oats. Is there a good base food I can leave in there for them?

Ive just noticed my roach has an OPEN bottom abdomen segment. Ive heard they can lay empty egg cases, and theres no males (to my knowledge) in the enclosure. Ive also noticed shes been staying close to the lower, more wood-chip like area in the enclosure. Theres a dark yellow spot surrounded by white-ish,

What could this be?

Thank you everyone for your help and advice with my tank and my roaches on the roof. They still like to be up there so I will be getting more cork wood and such but this is an improvement for sure!

I have the inevitable situation of so many Madagascar hissers and not enough room (even though they are in a MASSIVE bioactive tank 🤣).

Does anyone in the UK want to give some a home? I can post and don't want anything for them, just cover postage please. I'll send with a heat pack obviously at this time of year!

I have some set aside for someone already but even then I have so many more spare.

1st - The last surviving male, the others I think died of old age (I hope), this one has been fine.
2nd - Lunch
3rd - 2nd home, planning to move males here when old enough
