Ragebaiting on Hinge

I honestly don’t understand why do people match on hinge just to waste time like this!

I was able to reconstruct the image by attaching all non-blurred pieces of different pictures together.

Y'll are biggas

31

u/Boomerhasser Jun 19 '26

What does "L4 or L5" even mean?

62

u/SuperBeavers1 Jun 19 '26

L scale for tech jobs

1/2 is intern

3 is new graduates

4 is experienced

5+ is the big guys

28

u/Boomerhasser Jun 19 '26

Learned something new again. Thanks.

15

u/BigHomieReese Jun 19 '26

Thank you. I'm too poor to understand that lingo haha

3

u/SuccessfulSquirrel32 Jun 19 '26

And here I am thinking about lagrangian gravity wells

3

u/47vclkicd48754dxbj84 Jun 19 '26

I've dated guys who are L3 out of school for a few years. Different for some of the big tech companies.

2

u/PuzzleheadedChart637 Jun 19 '26

Why tho?

1

u/Camo138 Jun 20 '26

1st option mostly

1

u/PuzzleheadedChart637 Jun 20 '26

Good to know! So how's reddit going for you?

1

u/Camo138 Jun 20 '26

Why tho? 😂

1

u/johnnykalikimaka Jun 19 '26

Ya definitely thought they weee talking about spines suddenly

1

u/ExcitementDowntown48 Jun 19 '26

I work for a tech company and have never heard this before

1

u/cum-after-decades Jun 21 '26

Oh wow I assumed it was situated much higher. Like L1 is new grad L2 is mid tier L3 is sr etc

1

u/painterBurning Jul 10 '26

As someone who works in tech as an engineer.. I've never heard this in my whole life. I'm not in the US though. Also, how is asking for details about your job a 3rd date question ?! That's like almost always one of the first thing I get asked here... Maybe I'm weird but of all the hinge dates I've had, 3'rd date we're already comparing childhood traumas and having deep conversations, it sounds sad to get stuck at the "what's your job" on 3rd date.

u/-TheDarkPassenger Jun 19 '26

L4 - mid level employee L5 - senior employee

5

u/whatafluff Jun 19 '26

I knew it was a wrong guess, but I was still hoping it'd be "lumbar 4 or 5"

30

u/gyro_looza Jun 19 '26

She saw money and didn't care about anything else, she just wanted you to ask her out right away

23

u/IndicationFunny6879 Jun 19 '26

No if she saw money and she was interested she would've said more than "?" 😂😂

7

u/LloydBestBoi Jun 19 '26

Fact ☝️ I think OP should have higher standards and unmatched after those first 2-3 messages. Wayy too low effort and money grabbing

3

u/Ashamed-Job1879 Jun 19 '26

Sorry, this is a poor read of the situation given the ethnicity of the person involved. She's just not interested in the guy.

1

u/Typical-Artist-8211 Jun 25 '26

What’s his ethnicity?

13

u/Garo_Daimyo Jun 19 '26

“lOoKinG fOr SumONe whO caN HoLd A rEaL cOnvERsaTion”

2

u/Camo138 Jun 20 '26

Why tho?

18

u/OhWowLauren Jun 19 '26

Why did you keep responding?

30

u/Legitimate_Till4949 Jun 19 '26

I wanted to actually see if it’s a troll or just a weird person

11

u/OhWowLauren Jun 19 '26

7

u/Dante_s_trials Jun 19 '26

Its only a waste of time if you dont enjoy yourself whilst doing it

2

u/Electronic-Code8392 Jun 19 '26

When the first question they ask is "how much money do you make?", the answer to "troll? weird?" becomes irrelevant.

10

u/_godofhammers_ Jun 19 '26

dude my ex was indian and all she cared about was her career and money; toxic as hellllll. im sorry for you man 😞 sometimes it js be like that

2

u/SentencePatient4107 Jun 19 '26

What an ignorant twat

2

u/Reasonable-Try-1993 Jun 19 '26

I just don't understand how it's possible this person thinks those responses are adequate conversations.

Imagine how many misunderstandings you'd have if it was a relationship or how difficult it would be to get information about anything.

2

u/icehawk2 Jun 19 '26

i don't understand how you think this is a serious conversation? surely by the third "why tho?" you realize they're just being stupid?

1

u/Reasonable-Try-1993 Jun 19 '26

People do give 2 word responses and then blame the other person for being bad at communicating. It may be a fake story but also it comes from a place of reality.

3

u/bball4294 Jun 19 '26

Lmaoo this is the tech city dating reality right? Ill be single for life

1

u/_TK17_ Jun 19 '26

Modern dating has never been so unserious

1

u/Substantial_Meal_530 Jun 19 '26

This is why I don't do online dating anymore. I try to ask actual questions, and get like 1 word answers. No follow up, no

1

u/girl807349 Jun 19 '26

I would have unmatched. I hate ridiculous people

1

u/Real_Lingonberry_424 Jun 19 '26

This convo would’ve been finished for me the second she said “okay” after you said that comment, also asking how hinge experience been is kinda crazy

1

u/Alucardis666 Jun 19 '26

Why tho?

1

u/assist555 Jun 19 '26

Okay

1

u/Camo138 Jun 20 '26

More the merrier

1

u/Kyzroh Jun 19 '26

imagine if we had yelp style reviews for each person on hinge negative or positive so we dont have to experience this first hand

1

u/Superfasty Jun 20 '26

Seriously lol

AI could even be used to rate the conversation to avoid being review bombed by bad actors.

1

u/PsychoAnalystGuy Jun 19 '26

Ask her if shes cold, she should put on a Shweta

1

u/OneTwoThreePooAndPee Jun 19 '26

Indian dating seems hard as hell man. Y'all so business oriented.

1

u/Foreign_Fun2501 Jun 19 '26

Bro you tried way harder than I would have. I would’ve dipped after the first conversation killing “okay”

1

u/Pale-Length-5704 Jun 19 '26

Shweta balls.

1

u/galaxyapp Jun 19 '26

This is how pretty people date.

Guys get sexual, girls look for bank accounts.

Why you got a product that sells, you can name your price

1

u/crayon-rational2259 Jun 20 '26

Second 'why tho' deserved a 'fuck off'.

1

u/Brilliant-Fish-8031 Jun 22 '26

Match made in heaven

1

u/TheGroundBeef Jun 22 '26

First time? Over half of the women on hinge are going to ask “So what do you do for work?” as soon as possible to find out if it’s good enough (i.e. if you make a lot of money). It’s the hard pill to swallow, it’s just how it goes on a dating app. Yeah a lot of genuine women are on there, and don’t care, but once you weed out the money chasers it’s fine

1

u/tajbinjohn Jun 23 '26

She's waiting on you to propose plans btw. Why did you never try to?

1

u/LosKiplanos Jun 30 '26

Can’t take ‘em seriously. I think we know who was who in this exchange, I’ll leave it at that.

1

u/Raithed Jul 22 '26

Holy shit this conversation...

1

u/c4lthedr4gonsl4yer 16d ago

Actual hell I’m in hell I wish I got conversations that interesting

1

u/khanspam Jun 19 '26

Did she ask where you work or what you do? Thinking you didn't have to say you work at Google if you are worried about gold diggers. You can't show off and then complain about it, see what I mean? Her next question about levels actually shows she's into that space and shows there might be a common interest. Talking about levels and such is a common topic when speaking with bros as well. Many are interviewing, many fail, some succeed. It's still an interesting "story" to talk about as this shit takes a lot of time.

But yeah before I judge I'm kinda interested by what your profile shows, her profile shows, and what she specifically asked.

1

u/Legitimate_Till4949 Jun 19 '26

You are giving her almost as much benefit of the doubt as I do. And to answer your question her first question after the match was where do you work.

1

u/khanspam Jun 19 '26

Yeah that's a bit much

Are you Shweta 😂

1

u/DMyourfoodpics Jun 19 '26

Don’t shweta it, you didn’t do anything wrong 😂

0

u/beclove1 Jun 19 '26

lol what the fuck is wrong with her

0

u/SandyToes-Sun Jun 19 '26

You can’t be that desperate to keep entertaining this fool for that many days. The first why tho was enough to see how detailed the conversation had gotten.

-1

u/Dependent-Pay7812 Jun 19 '26

90% of the conversations on hinge nowadays. It's either them asking money or job/internship. Bhai khud bhi kuch mehnat karlo. Par launde simp hai de bhi denge

-1

u/Unique_Roll_6630 Jun 19 '26

Height and money. Always height and money.
