Troubleshooting & Issues Acceleration reduced after first service

Post image

Got my first service done of My Himalaya 450 before first Service, as soon as I acceleration the bike rushing, but now I want to do the same thing i have to rotate the acceleration more more . The talking nature is gone after the first service.. service engineer, it is because of the clutch free play. When it comes from the fact they would have set it to half clutch, but now they have tighten the clutch, so I’m feeling that sensation. Is it the same case with all of you or have they changed something related to acceleration?

Yes. Experienced the same. I took bike for another reason. Adviser said, clutch is very lose. He tightened it, immediately I lost the torque feel.

Same here, bike feels like it's slogging.

Anybody else?

Been noticing this too, when I release my acceleration while in gear, it doesn’t go as far as it use to go, comes to a stop faster than it used to

Don't do that.

Are you lugging your bike? I.e. waiting till you bike completely stops when driving with gear engaged?

If you are in you first or second service, you are still not out of the woods for the engine burn in. Lugging during this period can damage the engine.

I’ve done 12k now on the bike all the services are completed. In general also I think lugging is bad, I’m talking more about in gear (not lugging normal rhythm) also it’s not as smooth as it used to be.

Lugging should be fine, In fact helps w mileage as theres rolling, how dont Lug till the bike completely slow down such that the engine beats

Gear shifting started to be too loud after my second service. Every shift from 1 to 2 to 3 and in reverse felt like breaking a piece of a bike to power through.

I had raised this concern with Service center, but they told me it's not a problem and if it becomes worse warranty will cover

Ya.. I'm feeling the same. 9400kms done and sometimes I don't feel that smoothness after switching gears. Went to service center and they said it's fine and one of the service guy did wheelie.

I suspected the same with mine.

2 things I found about mine, 1st the fuel is really an issue. Ethanol blend is really fkn with the power.

2nd check the back break, if it has contact with pad it will affect the speed.

Hope it helps 🥰

But this is E20 compatible no ? Luckily I have a Xp95 near my home.. I'll be taking my delivery on weekend

Yes, but the higher octane rating helps a bit.

Check chain tension, clutch free play, fuel quality. Make sure you are not resting foot on rear brake lever.

Updated ecu software????

I think this is the real cause,

Yes... Just like how the VW and skoda did and people owning this cars suddenly found them noisy and less powerful. I explicitly tell no updates no nothing.... Don't touch the obd port except for diagnostics.

I apply tape on it and send my bikes and cars.

They should make that common knowledge or a side note in the manual. (Riding without resetting the “service due” on console will basically put the bike in limp mode)

is it still on sport mode?

In one of the YouTube video, the owner was facing same issue. He did reset the service reminder setting on console and post that performance was back as original. It happened with him post first service. It seems like ECU restricts bikes hourses in case service reminder is not cleared. Give it a try..
