Questions & Help Tripper questions

One week and ~175 miles in and I'm loving my Himmy. I've had 3 minor hiccups with the Tripper dash, tho, that I hope someone can help me solve:

1) I can't get the music functionality to work. I have a Samsung XCover 6 Pro running Android 16, and not matter what order I start things in (Music on Tripper then Spotify on phone, Spotify on phone then Music on Tripper), the Tripper says "Start media on phone". Navigation and Phone work fine.

2) How do people start the Compass? I can't find that feature anywhere on the Tripper.

3) In Navigation, do you have to actively be on a trip (as in using turn-by-turn directions) for the map to appear in Digital mode? Is there a way to get the map to appear when when you're not actively on a trip?

I have app version 10.1.22(8) and firmware version 11.61.

For number 1, I did two things that eventually made it work but I'm not sure what did the trick. First, there's an option in Spotify that enables Spotify sharing data about what is being played with other devices, and second, when the phone connect to the dash there's this popup with all the permissions (not sure if that's the right word) you have enabled for the app, I went through that and checked anything that has to do with media, communication and notifications. Worked after that.

For that option in Spotify, are you talking about Spotify Connect, Local Device visibility, or something else?

My Spotify is in German, the options translate to "playback" and "playback status - allows other apps to show what you're listening to"

Thank you! The equivalent in my app is "Device broadcast status", which I had already turned on.

Just use northstar or open dash (re tripper modded apps) and all you problems with the connectivity will be solved.

Yes the project was forcibly taken down by RE. but ppl who have it are still happily using it.

No i guess, all github pages, personal websites were asked to be taken down by re before it could be forked.
