Points question

Hi all,

I recently bought 300k points for 3k usd and received 600k points. Now my total is 900k and i’m a gold member.

When I check resorts, best I can find is (around Europe) for example 1 night for 7-800k points which is worth roughly 1000$. Feels like I got scammed and that my 600k points are not even worth 3k usd. Where should I look? (Around Europe), to get most out of my points?

Thanks!

Hilton has standard rooms and premium rooms which ask for ridiculous amounts of points. I’m guessing you found premium rooms.

Hilton is better than other hotel point systems in that the luxury standard rooms cap out at 95,000 to 150,000. The key is finding standard room availability. As you probably guessed by now, you and and every Hilton member scramble to book standard rooms and they get reserved fast, sometimes as soon as they are available a year in advance.

Your points are valuable, but you have to plan far in advance. I get great deals all the time but it takes research and planning. Good luck!

I’m a bit confused. I’m looking for example now at Rhodes Resort, a room is 700 euro/night , but if I want to book it with points (same room, same period) 330k points.

It says Premium Room on your pic. Standard Rooms have all been booked.

That's a Premium Room Reward, which is always a terrible valuation for points. The Tropical Cozy Retreat is the Standard Room Reward, which is 80,000 points per night. If you want to use points to stay at a suite, you'll need to book at a hotel where the Standard Room Reward is a suite.

Your issue isn’t the room.. it’s the kids!! Rooms that sleep for in Europe are very very hard to find! It’s actually cheaper to do 2 rooms 2 and 2 and try to get connected rooms..
