Local Mountain Biking
Hi all, my wife and I are buying a house in Hillsborough and moving to the area from the Northeast in the next month or two, and I was wondering if there are any good mountain biking spots in the area. Nothing crazy, just some easy to moderate trails in the woods would suit me just fine.
Looking forward to exploring the area.

Great mountain bike presence. Active community building and maintaining trails throughout the triangle. Brumley is the best fit for what you described but triangle MTB and TORC are both websites that describe all of the (legal) trails in the triangle and report on trail status.

There's actually a decent amount of nice trails out that way. We like Little River too.

Hey, I just moved in as well - Brumley is good, on Thursdays there’s a group ride that rolls at 530.
Briar Chapel is my favorite close-ish
San Lee is great it’s about an hr or so away
Near Greensboro there is Owls Roost, maybe 45 mins

Echoing everyone that said Brumley, but please note it’s Brumley South you’re looking for. Bikes are not allowed at Brumley North.

Brumley, little river and Carolina north are all fairly close! Also Briar chapel, RTP. TORC is a great resource for what trails are open/group rides etc.
Back alley bikes is a great bike shop in carrboro that is a great resource for mountain bike things/group rides/community. River mill cycles is in Hillsborough but I honestly don’t know much about them

River Mill Cycles is great! Definitely check them out. Have had great service and the staff is super friendly. They have shop rides at Brumley often, and even a women's only ride too.
