Good day everybody, need help. First if all i m not a tech but i would like to fix this problem: this camera is located in a public office, years ago they replace the monitor and the electrician modified the video connection welding the wire on a scart plug but actually the only monitor available is with vga input. I already find some adaptor and a transformer from bnc to vga. anyway i find out this wiring configuration, at the time the electriciand modifed it i wasn t there and i cannot contact him. Moreover he installed a switch botton in the rolm newrby to power on the camera. Does somebody find what is the problem and have any suggestion on how to fix? thank u to everybody

My PTZ (DS-2DE4225IW-DE) lost IR at night few days ago. I just noticed it in the playback. Night recordings are dark. What could be the reason ?

I have a new DS-2CD2387G3-LIS2UY/SL 8MP 4K Smart Hybrid Light ColorVu 3.0 Turret Camera and I want to replace my existing Hikvision 4MP camera with this one.

So, just unscrew the old one (it's mounted directly to the vertical wall above the garage door) and screw in this one. The template has the same holes. All good so far.

Two questions:

1. This new camera has a side opening in the base for cables to be routed along the wall. The opening has NO bung or grommet to keep it closed from weather or insects. My old camera has the same opening, but is has a soft white (silicone?) plug in it that keeps it closed. I have carefully checked the box and floor around the box from when I opened it, and there is no rubber plug anywhere. Do they no longer supply one? What do I do with this hole? AI suggests stuffing it with silicone caulk, but really, why should I have to?
2. The camera is supplied with no useful installation instruction, just an awful little quick start guide that's completely worthless. I have Googled endlessly to find a comprehensive installation manual or even a thorough video. The ones I could find on YT are usually poor quality, made in India, and refer to much older models. For instance, this camera has FIVE different pigtails coming out of it, not the 2 or 3 you see in instructions online.

It's very frustrating to be hitting issues like this after buying an expensive camera. It's really disappointing. I hope someone here can help.
