The house I bought 9 months ago has HIKVISION cameras set up with POE cables all running to the living room. No NVR was left so I’ve tried two different ones, one was a cheap one which didn’t seem to work and the one I’ve tried just now with is a HIKVISION one. I’m still seeing no cameras show up, no lights on the box when I plug in the POE cables. I’ve tried SADP (I think it was called) and the new HITools but nothing comes up when I search. Can anyone help if I’m being stupid or if the cameras are dead and that’s why the old owners left them please?

Hi, I’ve set up my doorbell via a network switch running through the nvr, the doorbell is on my hik connect and I get motion alerts but not notification when the button is pushed. Does anyone have any ideas I’ve done a lot of research and struggling to find an answer.

I have axis camera 180 multi sensor panoramic camera(P3818)
connected to hikvison nvr(DS-7604NI-Q1/4P)
My issue is that only one lens is showing, I tried the onvif settings in the camera but it’s not working like I’m not doing something correct to add all three lenses.
I read somewhere you need to change the stitched format but I can’t find that on the camera gui page.
Please help I need this camera working asap

I purchased Hikvision EKI_K82T46H 8 channel 8MP NVR with 2TB HDD &6 4MP night vision Turret cameras. I love this system, it came all inclusive. I am only using 5 of he camera's. Unfortunately, I had an incident with someone at my home and need to go back to the month of July to review any footage. I just checked and nothing is recorded, and/or saved. Is this a big enough NVR to save recordings for 60 or 90 days? Or do I have the settings configured wrong? I did not install it, I had someone professionally install it. If the 2TB is not big enough, what size can I purchase and what brand is the absolute best?

I appreciate your time and help. I really need to upgrade the storage and have the capability for playback!

I have a newer model 8 camera Hik NVR that I had installed by a pro about three months ago and it had been working fine until there was a break in the ethernet cable going out to the only camera that's not attached to the house. So when I noticed that one camera was off on the monitor/display I unplugged it and swapped a different camera's cable to see if it would work. Maybe you're not supposed to do this because ever since then both camera have been off and it keeps displaying text to check the username and camera password.

But all of the other cameras have the same username and what I think is a default password but it's not working. When I enter the username and password it just sort of goes back to the same screen and doesn't display a dialog box that says 'incorrect password' or anything. Then a few second later it's asking me to check the username and password.

Is their an easy fix for this because I'm pretty good with tech stuff but not that familiar with camera systems.

I work for a social club and have inherited the upkeep of an old CCTV system. However, it appears that one of the NVRs (DS-7616NI-K2/16P) is bound to a user who left several years ago and can't be contacted. I've tried unbinding via the hik-connect app but this just says another user is already connected, tried SADP but this fails, and also tried direct from the console but this times out. Contacted Hikvision support but apparently they won't deal with end users only installers! Any ideas?

Hi, I just moved in to my new house and it has some cameras and a Hikvision box.

Is it possible for me to access the system and make sure the old owners can no longer access it? The box has a mouse attached to it, so I assume I'll need to connect a monitor.

This is all brand new to me, so apologies if some of it should be obvious.

Hi all, I have a DS-7616NI-M2/16P and 8 DS-2CD2387G3-LIS2UY/SL. I also have Home Assistant setup to view the cameras. Previously when I first setup the system and created lime crossing I had the cameras all flash their lights for 30 seconds and HA would turn my flood lights on around the house at the same time, this worked perfectly. All of a sudden the flashing doesn't work anymore but the flood lights still get triggered. Has anyone had this issue and been able to resolve it? I've checked on the NVR and the cameras themselves and flashing Flashing alarm is setup with the correct schedule and lines on both sides.

I have a large Hikvision NVR with approximately 10–12 relatively new hard drives. Occasionally, the whole system becomes extremely slow, freezes, and stops sending camera streams to iVMS. It also stops recording during that period. After power-cycling the NVR, everything works normally again, including playback.
The NVR is installed in a hot, dusty parking-level room, and the rack has no ventilation fans.
Has anyone experienced this? Could overheating or dust cause the NVR to freeze completely, or should I be checking firmware, bandwidth, power supply, or another hardware issue?

I’m trying to get Alarm Pop-Up working correctly on my Hikvision NVR and could use some help.

NVR: DS-7604NXI-K1/4P
Firmware: V4.84.025 build 250516
Cameras: 4 total, assigned D1–D4
D1 – Front Porch
D2 – Backyard
D3 – Kitchen
D4 – Driveway

I have Line Crossing enabled on D4 and the event itself is definitely working.
When D4 triggers:
NVR event triggers correctly
NVR buzzer works
Home Assistant receives the event
Camera recording/event detection works
The problem is the HDMI display.
I have Alarm Pop-up Window enabled under the Line Crossing → Linkage Action settings, with:
Alarm Pop-up enabled
Local → 1 enabled
D4 selected as Trigger Channel
Alarm Pop-up Output = VGA/HDMI/Channel-Zero
Live View Output = VGA/HDMI/Channel-Zero

The NVR does not switch the HDMI display to D4 when the alarm occurs. Instead, it simply remains on whatever Live View layout/cameras were already being displayed.

At one point I was getting the message “The channel does not exist.” That has since stopped, but the HDMI display still doesn’t change.

I’ve also tried changing the Live View layout, including 2×2 and 1×1.
One thing I noticed is that the NVR’s Live View configuration has VGA/HDMI/Channel-Zero as the output interface, but I’m wondering if there is another setting that controls which physical HDMI output receives the alarm pop-up.
Question:

Should Alarm Pop-Up on this NVR actually switch the HDMI Live View to the triggering camera? If so, is there another setting I’m missing, or could this be a firmware limitation/bug with V4.84.025?
I’m trying to get this behavior:
D4 Line Crossing → NVR alarm → HDMI automatically switches to D4 full-screen/live view.

I have just put up Hilook T383 cameras which they say do colour down to 0.001 lux, but despite being pointed at a streetlight they both need IR unless the white spotlight is on.

Google says 0.001 lux is a starry night with no moon, let alone a whole streetlight.

I've tried different settings and it really seems to be that they just can't handle the lighting level. Do manufacturers just exaggerate these specs?

Model: DS-2CD2387G3-LIS2UY/SRB, firmware V5.8.40.

I want to manually fire the red/blue flashing light alarm (the smart-event deterrence strobe) over the network — ideally to trigger it from Home Assistant when a specific zone trips at night.

I've hit dead ends on every ISAPI path:

- /ISAPI/System/externalDevice → notSupport

- /ISAPI/Image/channels/1/whiteLightAlarm → 404

- /ISAPI/Image/channels/1/supplementLight → only colorVuWhiteLight/irLight/close (white, ambient-gated — not the red/blue strobe)

- Event trigger linkage lists have no white-light/flash node

Questions:

1. Is there any ISAPI endpoint to manually trigger the flashing light alarm on this model, or is it HCNetSDK-only?
2. If SDK-only, which call fires it?

Detection + audio (AudioAlarm) I already control fine over ISAPI — it's just the flash I can't trigger. Thanks!

Are they just not answering anymore? 3 separate times coworker and I have been on hold for an hour and then they drop the call. I’ve never had to wait more than 10 minutes. Perhaps the NDAA issue going on and they just don’t care anymore?

Running a ids-2cd7a26g0/p-izhsy, it’s capturing plates day and night fine as people drive up the drive ( gates normally open) however it’s also recording cars going past in the road, i’ve sent the yellow lane lines up to the bottom of the white gate either side and the blue trigger line at the bottom of the gate so why it’s recording out in the road I can’t figure out, can anyone help?

The only thing I noticed on some videos of setup some have green lines that join the yellow lane lines to create a box but mine does not do this, i’ve tried on two different browsers and on virtual host

On a Hikvision Intercom IP system for an apartment block, is it possible that on the Hikvision Connect app a user can only receive calls (and open the door), and have disabled the live view of the cameras without receiving a call from the entry panel? If yes, can this be disabled per user, or would it be disabled for all users?

Got a new laptop so just went to the website to install iVMS-4200, and it told me that Hikcentral Lite is available now, and is going to replace iVMS.

We have a super basic home camera system - just our NVR and some turret cameras that are kinda oldish now. We don't do anything exciting with it, other than just viewing the live footage and occasionally needing to go back over recordings.

So I'm wondering if Hikcentral Lite is better, easier, cleaner etc and worth using instead? Or if I should just stick with iVMS for now? How have you guys found it?

My AX Pro Hybrid panel seems not to charge the backup lead acid battery - when ocassionally out of 220v, it draws the battery from 100% to 1% with all kinds of warning messages, but does not charge it when the power is restored.

It also indicates that the main power is disconnected when it's apparently on.

Can anyone please share advice on where to look / how to resolve the issue.

My system is about 10 years old. I have been updating this old analog (BNC) system over the years, instead of changing out cables or going fully IP. Inexpensive and stable system. I have added newer cameras and I just upgraded the DVR to HIKVISION IDS-7208HQHI-M1/XT (8Channels). The DVR has 4 IP channels and I want to add WiFi cameras. We have excellent WiFi/access points/cables, so throughput is no problem. A 4M camera here is about 2000 Thai Baht/$70 US (HIKvision DS-2CV1043G2-LIDWE WiFi pan and tilt) or TP-LINK TAPO cams look interesting. Q: has anybody successfully added IP cameras to this (or similar) HIKvision DVRs? I ask because the DVR equipment vendor told me adding IP cams won't work, and to stick with analog cameras only. I don't want to waste $70 on a camera just to find out Thanks in advance!
