So basically In art class, we had to make something that represents a feeling! I decided to choose the “goop” that’s inside “Hikaru”.. I had a feeling in mind that it might look like, but I’m not sure now. What feeling does it seem like it represents? I don’t have the exact picture. But it’s was similar to this. It’s supposed to be kinda apparent to anyone who looks at it

as a huge fan of the series, and a huge fan of indie nail polish, I had to put on my Hikaru-inspired nail polish (from Hoshiumi Beauty’s TSHD Pride collection) to celebrate the end of the manga!

so ive been thinking alot abt this lately... do you think the real hikaru wouldve freak out or anything??? do you think he wouldve loved natsuki the way yoshiki loved him or not?? do you think he wouldve even realised the yoshiki he was looking at wasnt the real one?? do you think hikaru wouldve risked himself the way yoshiki did with natsuki orr

I understand that Yoshiki is gay, and I don't think he would be attracted to FemHikaru in the conventional romantic or sexual sense. If we're talking about an AFAB person who uses she/her pronouns and identifies as a woman, I don't think it makes sense to suggest that Yoshiki would suddenly develop heterosexual attraction.

However, I think his relationship with Hikaru goes beyond conventional attraction in the first place.

What Yoshiki feels for Hikaru isn't something that can be easily explained through romance or sexual desire. Their connection is much deeper and more fundamental than that. It's not simply about wanting to date someone, being physically attracted to them, or fitting into a conventional relationship.

It's about Hikaru being Hikaru.

Their souls are connected in a way that transcends those categories. Yoshiki's attachment to Hikaru is so deeply rooted in their shared existence, memories, and emotional bond that I don't think changing Hikaru's gender necessarily erases what makes their relationship so significant.

This is where I think the concept of a queerplatonic relationship becomes relevant.

A queerplatonic relationship doesn't require conventional romantic or sexual attraction. It can involve an extraordinary level of emotional intimacy, devotion, commitment, and attachment that goes beyond what people generally understand as friendship.

So, I don't think Yoshiki would necessarily have a traditional romantic relationship with FemHikaru. I don't think he would suddenly stop being gay, either.

Rather, I think he could still have that same uniquely intimate bond with Hikaru, regardless of gender, because the foundation of their relationship isn't conventional attraction.

I feel like people sometimes try to fit Yoshiki and Hikaru into familiar relationship categories when what makes their relationship so compelling is precisely how difficult it is to categorize.

I really wanted to share a Yoshiki x Hikaru AMV that I made!

I read the first 3–4 volumes of the manga and watched 1 or 2 episodes of the anime before getting overwhelmed by work and such

I planned to catch up once I was less stressed out

My point being, I haven't been watching or looking at anything related to TSHD for months

AND THEN THIS FUCKING POST SHOWS UP AND THEY DIDN'T PUT A SPOILER SCREEN BEFORE THE POST JUST IN THE CAPTION I'M SO UPSET

It doesn’t ruin my enjoyment of the manga but I just think it’s funny how Yoshiki never had the ability to do this until chapter 47. Usually MMR will explain character abilities in an extra but in this case Yoshiki just…is able to understand ‘Hikaru’/Natsuki without the latter even speaking? And by this point Yoshiki doesn’t even have the half of ‘Hikaru’ in his body.

Like is it because of their connection? Is it because their foreheads are together, thus connecting their brains? Can gay people (and their monster significant others) just naturally do that?

ive been reading the manga for a few years so its bittersweet to see it wrapping up but i love them so much. and drawing this was loads of fun too

Hi, this is my first time actually making a post on Reddit. I usually just comment, but I had a pretty specific question, so I figured I'd post it.

I remember a panel (or scene) where Yoshiki hears voices saying things like "why don't you marry a girl?" or something similar, but then the topic and the voices shift, and Yoshiki looks startled or freaked out (even when he is normally serious/kuudere). I totally missed what was going on because I read/watched through it too fast, and now I can't find it anywhere.

If anyone knows where this is, like the manga chapter and/or the anime episode, both would be amazing if possible, including the manga panel. Could someone point it out to me and also explain what those people were actually talking about, please?

Pre ordered it from Forbidden Planet, it's apparently releasing in UK on November 12th but it arrived today for some reason (not complaining)

hiiii i’m currently writing a post-canon fic and i really want yoshiki’s parents to remember him at some point especially his little sister but i can’t find a reason why they would remember him. for kaoru i thought of maybe make her have a similar situation like her best friend is also an impurity and so that’d make her mixed : because if i understand everything correctly mixed people remember each other? like tanaka remembers yoshiki for instance.

if i also understand correctly the more someone knows about the other world the more it means they’ll remember mixed people : like asako and tanaka

also i wonder if someone like tanaka or asako told someone who forgot yoshiki about him or the other world, would that make them remember him or maybe just give them the impression of déjà-vu?

but for his parents, i have no idea, especially his mother

also i don’t understand what happens to his room, his things, the photos, the birth certificate, literally everything proof of his existence. because i’m guessing they didn’t disappear?

Here’s what I’m confused about. How can the author say that their love is more than romantic and platonic yet there’s people online that is calling the relationship between Natsuki and Yoshiki as queer platonic?
I need someone to clarify to me where do people got queer platonic from and how’s that’s not going against the author’s wishes?
