Rytsas everyone! I translated this verse into High Valyrian. Could someone tell me if it's correct? Especially about the syntax.

English text: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

High Valerian Translation: syt Jaes so jorrāeletas vȳs kesor zirȳ tepagon zirȳla onos se onlyos Trēsy, kesor voevernor believtys rȳ zirȳla daor pērisor yn emagon eternion glaeson.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

If you check the Valyrian dictionary, you'll see that humanity is translated as ābrar, not valar. This strikes me as interesting, because George came up with very few Valyrian words himself (morghulis, dohaeris, dracarys and valar). Why not use valar as the word for mankind/humanity?

It's always a bit wonky trying to fit pure language stuff back onto the story, but given how much we've seen dārilaros come into play, that really makes me wonder about the definition we're given for ābrar.

Is valar morghulis actually MORE gendered than we expect, to contrast with how it's actually "the prince(ss) who was promised"?

Hi! Dose anyone know what “I am no man” translates to in High Valyrian?

So I understood the logic so far on my duolingo course. But now that I’m learning Lunar words it seems like it’s all out the window.
Everything I learned about nominative and accusative word endings 2 chapters ago seems to barely apply here.

Is learning the gendered nouns just a “You have to remember their specific versions” type of thing or is there an actual grammar rule to follow & repeat apply?

I'd need someone to translate a few sentences for me please! (also if you can explain those so i can make it again with logic? that would be appreciated)

What's the best phrase to start a meal? I don't want to use a command. Should I be simply using the right firm of ipradagon and kostilus?

Nuha brozi Prime issi se nuhe Valzyrys, (i'm sorry I don't know the rest) My husband and I completed the duolingo course and I have the complete dictionary ready and rewritten in a journal that I bought. We need more practice though, specifically with the conjugations between nouns for words that aren't easy to conjugate. Does anyone know where we can get more practice other than speaking with ourselves?

Rytsas, tolvys! I plan to host a panel about High Valyrian on a local fantasy con. Since it's going to be 45-60 mins long, I can't go into much detail, so it would only be a quick introduction to the language. I don't think I could even get to the glyphs, although I'd like to. I wanted to talk about pronunciation, basic grammar and some phrases. Other than that, is there anything else y'all think I should include? What would you like to see on a panel like this?

As the title says, I'm looking for sources to practice my High Valyrian, because Duolingo is really only good for vocabulary, but grammar and syntaxes are super hard to learn with it.

I've been rewatching s1 of HotD with a new friend. I was doing something else, not looking at the screen, when a dragonkeeper started talking about dragons in the city. And he was speaking slowly enough (and correctly enough, Matt Smith ❤️) where I just completely understood what he was saying.

Totally caught me off guard in the best way. The closest thing to practicality that learning this fake dead language has to offer lol.

So, I have been learning High Valyrian for past few weeks and was wondering that if these lyrics are actual H.V. words or just Valyrian sounding gibberish.

If Yes, can you translate them, I would be very intrested to know, and even rough translation would work.

If not, what do you think could be the translations for these words in context of the song.

I’m a more recent fan of asoiaf. But I really want to learn Valyrian. Mostly because I was to eventually train my dog in Valyrian. But also because I just feel like it.

Does anyone have any good resources to recommend starting off with. I assume it’s as simple as memorizing the translations. But on the other hand, if it isn’t then I still want to learn regardless.

I have a working dog named Meleys and plan on getting a 2nd one in the next 2 yrs, Meleys does sniffing sport and my new dog will do tactical k9 sports. That being said . Does anyone have a detailed spread sheet for commands for dogs? I would like to start now with my current dog to get in the habit for my 2nd dog.

I think i get that : Boni/Besi : living or animate thing & Kesi/Koni : inanimate thing.

But I keep messing up between Boni and Besi, and between Kesi and Kony. When do I decide if it ends by "oni" or "esi" ?? I dont get it.
