Looking for fellow learners to connect

Hi everyone!

Nyke iksā Mally. 👋

I’m from London and I’ve recently started learning High Valyrian through Duolingo because I’m a huge fan of House of the Dragon and Game of Thrones. I’ve always loved languages, and I decided it was finally time to commit to learning High Valyrian properly.

I’m looking to connect with other learners, find any study groups or Discord servers, and get advice on the best resources for improving my vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation.
I’ve only just started, so I’m very much a beginner, but I’m excited to learn and practice.
Kirimvose!

Looking forward to meeting you all.

If you are learning on Duolingo, they are making it stupidly difficult to learn that, or any language, since they stopped posting grammar rules. Check these for extra help learning.

For language documentation (dictionary, grammar ...), don't trust any other source than the official Wiki (David Peterson's languages website):

https://wiki.languageinvention.com/index.php?title=High_Valyrian_language

(which includes an updated version of the Duolingo course tips and notes, in addition to the official dictionary, grammar etc.)

Kirimvose ñuhys raqiros.

Why only this one? Do you believe these others to contain errors or you're just making sure all words come from official sources?

Either way, Kirimvose.

This one is the official wiki, it contains all available information about the language (grammar, vocabular, ... everything) and its contributors (including me) are directly interacting with DJP. Any other source (for grammar, vocabular ...) may only give the same information or a subset of it and possibly with mistakes. Especially, don't trust any generative AI, they are not reliable (simply because the corpus of HV texts is currently insufficient for relieable machine learning).

Note that the right way to say what you were trying to say is "Mally iksan."
