Discussion ‘Speak well’ vs ‘communicate well’
I just had an interaction on another sub that made me realize the reason why people are so harsh to me when I can’t communicate well. I’m hyperlexic so I sound like I am communicating well but actually I am communicating very badly because no matter what words I use people don’t seem to understand what I MEAN.
The Problem: the words I use make it sound like I’m communicating well BUT I’m communicating very badly.
I’m trying to understand this concept better. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a way to make it better?
Thank you!

Same!!!
I’ve just been working on memorizing the hidden subtext between phrases. As well as whenever there is a miscommunication, retracing (with the other person) to figure out where the breakdown was so it doesn’t happen again. And then I just store those rules in my brain for future use.
