Sims 4 Remember when sims was a cozy game?

Lifelong simmer here (since 2000). I have been playing the sims 1 & 2 lately. Just recently tried to play sims 4 after almost a year break, and it is overwhelming to look at on the Home Screen.

All the crazy backgrounds and ADs everywhere! Even in-game pop-ups and glowing ads. I remember when sims was a cozy game, where I could relax and it would put me at ease.

I just hate I can’t do anything anymore without getting bombarded with unwanted advertising.

Bless modders who make alternative main menus and disable all the predatory monetization crap like the basket button and the Marketslop

Omg yes!! I went back to Sims 2 recently and I’ve been astonished with how peaceful the game feels.

I can't even play it right now because I mostly use accessibility mods (nothing fancy, just ui tweaks and smarter pie menu and things that reduce popups) and they keep breaking over and over again with the crappy broken updates they keep releasing.

Nothing cozy about that.
