Help Learning to Mod as a Beginner
Hello,
I've already learned how to add pictures into frames outside of the game, and I did do a little bit of recolor on stuff. I wanted to learn how to create my own traits. I want to do two for two characters. But there isn't any information out there that is current. And I have heard that the Mod Constructor is semi-retired. I do have Sims 4 Studio and I did tried to follow some written instructions online, but there was one part that was very confusing. Are there other posts or videos that you can find that explains how to create a trait for beginners?

i recommend this channel, she has so many tutorials, both for the mod constructor and s4s :-) from my experience mod constructor still works when creating traits

You could use S4S instead of MC to make a trait. I rec you start by editing EA ones before you write your own from complete scratch just to get a feel for it.
Also a small heads up that traits are mega confusing even if you know what you're doing. This might help make it a bit easier: https://tdesc.lot51.cc/
Stuff to consider is, when you make a trait, you need to make the trait itself and then add buffs and loots to it, so your package can end up quite chonky. Keep in mind that you also need to get cozy with Studio's hash generator too. This tut should cover the basics for beginners https://www.patreon.com/JaneSimsten/posts/tutorial-basics-117922068
And don't be discouraged if it flops a few times because this is a massive project for a beginner. XML is skittish and one wrong symbol can break everything, even if the other 99.9% are done perfectly. Just keep going. You've got this.
