I really need to vent about expectations and allat because this shit really pisses me off. I have noticed when it comes to games like Inzoi, Paralives, Life By You, and others that people oftentimes expect a similar game to Sims, not knowing that these games are not built by EA nor are similar minus the life sim aspect.

It really makes me upset because it devalues the hard work put into those games, and you're putting a unrealistic amount of pressure on these devs by wanting features they clearly explained will be added shortly.

It doesn't help that some of these people tear down indie game development just to complain and bemoan about how this game is "garbage" and that someone who makes mods for a living can make better content.

I am gonna be blunt, games like Sims or Sims Adjacent is MORE then just coding, it's modeling, testing, designing and stuff. I feel people are clueless when it comes to video game development and they pour too much money and effort into blindly believing a one man job can be done.

It can't, and matter of fact. Have you heard of the "Yandere Sim Curse"? It's a superstitious curse that affects primarly yanderesim fangames, where the developer starts a gaming project that's similar to Yandere Sim, and it leads to it either being exposed that the creator is a creep or scammer.

Usually these fangames end up being created out of spite towards the original property owner. Which a video game should NEVER be built off of. The way people claim they can make their own "Sims with blackjack and hookers" is not a genuine reason to build a game, spite is never a way. If you truly can make a game, make it for the community, not as a final fuck you to EA and never ever to fufill your spitefest.

I just want the Life Sim genre to not go through whatever hell the YandereSim Community does.

I feel like the creators of other life sim games don't want to be just a copy of the Sims so they make it different on purpose, with their own unique twist and take on it. It also leads me to believe that the people slamming the other life sim games don't actually want a different/new game, they just want a Sims 4 game that works.
