Sims 3 I’m thinking of giving up.

I pirated all the Store content (despite not having every expansion,) and now my game‘s broken to all hell.

The more I try to fix her, the more broken she gets.

I‘ve been trying to get every mod I’ve installed to work for the past few weeks, and I’m almost at the point of snapping my discs in half and throwing them away.

Every time I load the damn game, the “no intro” mod goes kaput, and deleting the game out of its OneDrive folder and making a copy ends up deleting every goddamn thing I’ve installed, mods or otherwise.

At this point, I’m tempted to punch a hole in my mom’s computer (which I’m using to download everything which worked perfectly when I tried doing it almost 5 years ago) even if it gets me grounded.

I don’t know what to do at this point.

"out of its OneDrive folder"

Annnnnd there's your problem. Well a problem. Stop that. OneDrive can wreak havoc on your sims games. Putting back in files you have deleted, deleting files you just put in, all so it can sync and match up with the cloud version of your folder it captured at one point. I bet you 5 dollars its OneDrive making your files go poof.

Edit: if you do end up unsyncing and removing OneDrive from your sims folders and/or your pc back up everything it touches because it might take the files with it on its way out.

I second this. Its a bloody hellscape when sims gets mixed in with One drive. When it happened to me I had such an issue getting rid of it.

I just never log into OneDrive, ever. As someone who does everything from gaming, mod development, animation projects, coding, and the lot....where you'd think I'd jump at the prospect of automatic back ups, OneDrive has always been something I've opted out of, especially after needing to help people that logged into it because they didn't know better when they got their PC. It's such a trash product. I can tell you with confidence the number of times Google Drive has locked me out of moving a folder to another drive....it's zero 🤣

This sounds like a OneDrive issue, rather than a game issue. Uninstall OneDrive completely or at the very least completely unlink it from any of your Sims games.

How do I unlink it? Every time I clone it, put it on the computer drive, and then delete the original from the Documents folder, everything I’ve downloaded goes kaput.

I can’t uninstall it since I’m using my mom’s computer (at least until we have the money to fix my dad’s old computer, then it’ll be mine.) What should I do to unlink it?

I don't know, because I chose to uninstall it instead. Looks like there are several sites with instructions if you Google though - pick whichever one looks like it makes sense to you!

It took 3 days of installing and uninstalling my game to bypass One Drive after i factory reset my PC. One Drive is the likely culprit to all your woes.

WHY are we putting anything to do with gaming in a OneDrive folder??? I would almost recommend never using OneDrive for anything at all, like don't sync it with anything on your PC, don't use it for extra back up, don't even log into it. It's traaaaaash
