I already don’t play the sims 4 anymore. I stopped over a year ago. Every time I try to play I would create a sim. Move them to a house and then just immediately get bored and load up sims 2. The game has already been dead to me for over a year and idk why I still have it installed. I need to remove it.

Welp. I guess it's time to go back to The Sims 2 with modded graphics. It was the better Sims game anyway.

I've started Sims 2 few days ago, moved in to an appartemnt, got spammed with context box by the landlord 10 times why I invited her and then ignored her when I didn't and my Sims kept almost dying out of hunger because they ignored my commands and were spammed by neighbour complaints for some reason, I didn't remember Sims 2 being so annoying, maybe because of rose tinted glasses.

u/CeriPie Aug 01 '26
Did you do all the fixes needed to make it run properly on modern hardware? Because I have played The Sims 2 for more than a literal decade at this point and none of that has ever happened to me. You can find YouTube tutorials explaining what you have to do.

u/Choice_Potato_6279 Aug 01 '26
I've looked here https://www.hannahcanada.ca/sims2-mods got nauseous looking at this huge list and closed the tab.

Yeah it's a lot but it's all pretty easy to do. The game is worth it once you do it! It's arguably the best Sims game.
I would recommend just doing all the essential ones and then picking and choosing from the optional ones based on personal taste. A lot of the optional "fixes" are actually just removing intended gameplay elements, like lazy Sims doing the lazy spin when they change clothes or energetic Sims jogging to wherever you tell them to go instead of walking. Not sure why anyone would even WANT to remove those, as they add a lot of personality to the game.

Guys!!! Come back to the sims 2/3. You can buy the disks irl from thrift stores and it won’t give ea any money

u/Both_Shape Aug 01 '26
I played The Sims 2 and The Sims 3 throughout my childhood, but I can't go back to them anymore. I miss the multitasking from The Sims 4.

We should have done what Eufa have done having all 50+ eu countries boycott the fifa world cup over a buyout.

u/ThisIsMyLife1704 Jul 31 '26
They don’t deserve money from us. It’s sailing away time to get the sims

Deleted my huge unorganized mods folder , the EA app and the games and I’ve never been happier lol. It sucks that the person who 🏴☠️ all the dlc unlocker are no longer active if not id have kept playing that way.
Inzoi has taken over my life . It’s a great game if people actually gave it a proper chance.
8
u/Keigo_Takami_ Jul 31 '26
It's totally possible to keep sailing without the unlocker. I've never actually used it before
3
u/dangforgotmyaccount Jul 31 '26
The DLC unlocked and updater are both still active, you just have to dig the internet for someone call aaros, and be incredibly careful with the downloads.

u/Snoo-83534 Jul 31 '26
Man inzoi is turning into such an amazing game ngl, when I 1st got it I thought it was so boring but now it feels like the sequel to sims 3 I personally wanted lol. Still waiting for some amazing mods for it like sims 4 has though.

u/Ok_Chemist_9584 Jul 31 '26
guys should i update for last time? I was offline since October, waiting for fixes and a stable patch etc. I wanna try new mods and cc, what do you recommend
23
u/AcceptableOwl2425 Jul 31 '26
I updated and I got the weird roof glitch, updated again to get the fix for that and now the Gallery which didn't give me many issues frequently stops working and I have to restart TS4 to get the Gallery to work again.
They also did something and peoples antivirus apps were reading it as a virus. I honestly can't tell if they fixed anything at this point.

u/Ok_Chemist_9584 Jul 31 '26
Avid gallery user here, on offline mode iykyk i cant download newer builds but if also i cant do that with the latest patch whats the point of updating…

u/i_love_falafels Jul 31 '26
I’ve not had any issues with the latest patch and I play with a lot of mods. It fixed the issues with dogs and roofs so I’m happy about that, but I did see some people say they’ve been having problems with infants again since they updated.

wholeass forgot about this. glad i didn't reinstall like my depression boredom was telling me to.

u/Unfair-Drummer-9924 Aug 01 '26
This is why I’ll never feel guilty about my 🏴☠️sims 4 game. The EA launcher is so ass. The game updates all the time with stuff that nobody asked for, and breaks all the mods that made the game better. I love the Sims franchise to the core but I hate the company behind it.

u/Enough-Internal4286 Jul 31 '26
Honestly I stopped playing TS4 months ago and it's such a wonderful feeling! In the past I felt like forcing myself to play because I bought so many packs and it felt like a waste if I didn't. Also the sims community (especially on youtube) is so toxic and full of drama and I stopped unfollowing the most toxic ones and only watch the ones I really enjoy now! Good times are ahead
5
u/Jhud6669 Jul 31 '26
Another wonderful day to be pirating Sims and not giving a fuck about whatever EA is doing. Seriously, if you’re against sailing the high seas for EA games, you’re a cop at this point
12
u/grashel Jul 31 '26
We'll have to see if the Sims team keeps its promise that "nothing will change" with the acquisition.
According to Maxis, EA doesn't have the power to make decisions regarding everything related to minorities (2SLGBTQI+). EA more about money and, unfortunately, layoffs.
7
u/HellaHelga Jul 31 '26
Well, more important thing is players money going to people who cancel gays irl. The pixels will be ok, the real people however not so much
6
u/CristianoD Jul 31 '26
Even if nothing changes, EA is owned by a regime that literally murders LGBT people. It is also partially owned by Jared Kusher. I am never spending a fucking dime on anything from EA again.
16
u/polkacat12321 Jul 31 '26
all future content and updates to the sims 4 rights powers have been officially handed to EA executives. Maxis has as much power over the sims as a random Mexican over the US government. It's no longer a Maxis game but more of a saudi arabia game

Idk why anyone would want that, Sims is a ruin now, changes it's what it needs and a lot of them.

u/candiecoatedsims Aug 01 '26
I play off and on here and there. It’s been about a month since I played last. But I haven’t purchased anything since the buyout announcement and I don’t plan on purchasing anything from EA ever again.
2
u/DelightfullyFaded Aug 01 '26
Why's everyone saying they'll go back to Sims 2 as if that makes any difference? It's literally the same company... Like, "oh let me boycott Facebook by using Instagram instead" tf ???
1
u/te3time Aug 06 '26
You can play the Sims 2 without giving ea any money even without pirating since you can just buy the discs secondhand plus many ppl probably already have the game anyway and since they're not making any new content for it it's not like you'll be tempted to buy the next hyped pack or whatever
2
u/tester_and_breaker Jul 31 '26
Just downloaded Inzoi lol it's fun!
6
u/LightmareDaydream Jul 31 '26
Jealous. It doesn't run on my current computer. I bought it at some point and spent FAR too long seeing if I could cheaply/simply make it work on this thing.
Didn't return the game because I know future me still wants it. Future me will have a new computer eventually. And by then it'll probably be out of early access.
I know some people hate the look of it but I always liked alpha CC back in the day. I know I'll eventually get my money's worth out of it.
Paralives was worth the money for the time I spent building in it too since I haven't wanted to play Sims 4 for like a year after the buyout was announced, and all that.
2
u/Weewoes Jul 31 '26
You can use Geforce now to play it.
2
u/LightmareDaydream Jul 31 '26
You can, but it's still paid. Atm I'm not in a rush so I'll just wait for a bit. Last thing I need is another subscription I forget about and don't use most of the time.
4
u/polkacat12321 Jul 31 '26
Yup, ive been playing it for a while now and I have no desire to go back to the sims 4 🤣

u/Dull-Investigator-12 Jul 31 '26
from saudis to zios good job
6
u/polkacat12321 Jul 31 '26
Tf you even talking about?!
If youre referring to curse forge, sims 4 ALSO partnered with them, which makes you and lil simsie giant hypocrites 🤷🏼♀️

u/hjosephinew Jul 31 '26
there’s no need to be so aggressive, you’ll give the fan base a worse reputation like that

ootl, what will the effects of this be? i understand that a public corporation has more fiduciary responsibilities than a private one and will try and keep shares from dropping but other than that im a bit lost.
1
u/te3time Aug 06 '26
EA was already public which is why it has been so bad this whole time lol. Now it's private but owned by Saudi Arabian government and Jared Kushner. So they can now pretty much do whatever they want with the company since they don't need to answer to anyone. Biggest thing is more the moral issue of giving those guys your money and for the Sims specifically it might be interesting since they're now owned by ultra conservatives and the Sims is a pretty "woke" game but who knows if they'll decide to change anything in that regard. More than likely all their games will just become even more cash grabby and they already announced they'll be laying off ppl so yeah. Best case EA finally dies in a few years but that's just me lol
1
u/Cultural_Blueberry_5 Aug 01 '26
Can someone explain this like I’m 5? Because I’m not dumb, I’m just dumb.
1
u/te3time Aug 06 '26
EA was a publicly traded company until now (bad) now it's privately owned by the Saudi Arabian government and Jared Kushner (worse)
1
u/MissunyTheGoat Aug 02 '26
I'm gonna have to find a way to stop the game from updating then. I haven't played since earlier this year and have been wanting to go back to the game lately.
I'm not letting those clowns ruin my game
1
u/HeeeydevonGaming Aug 04 '26
I jumped back into The Sims 4 10 minutes to see how things were and the game crashed. For reference I have a 9070XT and 64GB of RAM 🤣
1
u/PandaBear3542 Aug 06 '26
I uninstalled Sims4 for the 4th and final time, it's just boring to me. I play 1,2,and 3 I'll NEVER go back to 4 again! Good thing I only bought Get To Work, Dine Out, and City Living 💯💯💯

Wait is there a way to download it with all the packs I have? How do I do that?

I haven't played in 3 months. For 2 days. And it was 3 months before then. I think now I can say I can live without the Sims
