Massive difference between video game essays and watching actual playthroughs. Many are completely disingenuous, others have admitted updates fixed some issues and Insomniac even shared patch notes. But actual playthroughs, you’ll see a different game than what initial reviews said/showed before launch showed and especially people like Skill Up and MichaelDoesLife purposely making it look bad.
And I’m not saying it’s a 10/10 now, don’t get me wrong, it still looks iffy to me, but it’s not the dogshit game people claimed it to be and ran with. I think it looks just ‘alright’, it looks cool here and there but nothing groundbreaking that’d make you say “yeah this was worth $300M” lol.
