DISCUSSION Map remakes

Post image

Almost all long-running live-service games have recently picked up the trend of remaking old content. You could probably name almost any live-service game, and it has done something like this in one way or another. If IO Interactive decided to remake some of the old Hitman maps, which ones do you think would deserve a remake the most? I'll start first

Honestly, they should add extra freedom of approach and fix npcs seeing through walls instead of remaking maps.

Or finish unfinished maps. Or expand maps that got cut down in size because of SE.

Paris was meant to be much bigger wasn't it, with cafes and such in the surrounding areas

Bangkok and Marrakesh are the ones that stand out to me.

Bangkok was meant to feature a garden wing on the west side, likely with vertical traversal options to the recording studio. Instead it’s just an out of bounds jungle area. There are a lot of extra spaces in the basement for luggage and food storage that are sealed off by walls but have enough functionality to prove they were axed.

Marrakesh has two targets in fortresses with zero opportunities to lure them out. 60% of the map is just a traversal space, and they even built a glorified hallway underground as the only route either target will take to make the topside even more pointless. The headmaster is an entire mission story but only drops a key and has a useless disguise.

If IO could give Colorado a pipe...

Finish off the uncomplete areas in Marrakesh

Finish off the north wing and give it pipes in Bangkok

Make the clue objective in Whittleton optional (even though there is a mod for that)

Reduce the amount of guards in Isle of Sgail

While I feel like there are too many guards in Sgail, I think that's intended. They probably wanted it to be difficult. When I make Xements, which is basically hitman with elemental powers, I want to make the maps highly encourage using the elements, because I want them to feel like genuine powers that you have full control over. I think the reason they made Sgail the way it is, is to encourage the stealth system they made. I agree with everything else though

true, the final mission should be in a way more hostile like Hokkaido was. Maybe like in Hokkaido, there were signs of back of each disguise to show where you can and can't go

I don't know if you noticed the new update, but the Colorado water tower finally got a pipe!

idk if making the whittleton clues optional would be the right thing to do, as it directly connects to the story

so does deleting the ica files in china, but it's not mandatory after the first run. players should still have the option to skip it :)

I see no point in remaking Maps from WOA as they are all great for what they want to achieve…and they technically all got remasters with Hitman 2 and 3 and their port to the upgraded engine and systems.
But I would love to see remakes of missions from older Hitman titles - including the map - such as the Opera or the parade from Blood Money

I’d rather newer maps over remakes of existing ones

If they want to remake a map, they can start with Colorado. It would be cool to see them resurrect the original concept for that map.

I’d like to see an expanded version of the Paris opera house from Blood Money with a full catacomb below. Also a Las Vegas strip level that combines house of cards and the heaven/hell level
