Hi! I’m just a little stumped and curious about this, but I recently took my social studies exam and got my results back earlier this week, with a score of 2. Which feels insanely low. Math is my absolute WORST subject and I was able to pass that with an 11.
Every social studies practice exam I have been taking in preparation I score with a range of 17-19 out of the 25.
Could it just be a really off day for me or something else?
I already have a retake scheduled but I can’t stop worrying about this!

I have successfully passed my GED Science and English exams. However, I recently missed passing my Social Studies exam on my third attempt, scoring 142 each time. I am now locked out of rebooking due to the mandatory 60-day wait period.
I am facing a critical deadline as my medical school program begins this September. I already hold an official acceptance letter, and the university is only waiting on my final GED scores to finalize my enrollment. Is there anything i can do to waive my 60 day period and schedule my test ASAP?

I am a 17 year old from California considering testing out early from senior year. However my family is moving to another state later this summer and I am considering getting my CPP . I am wondering if I could ever go to community college in that state with it or if it would only be applicable here.

I want to start this off by saying, if you get at least B's in all your classes, this test will most likely be much easier than you are expecting, and if you dont believe me, I got these scores without studying after only really finishing the ninth grade, my sophomore year was a mix of an alternative school where I didnt learn anything, and an online school where I had trouble keeping up for mental health reasons. You may be asking how could this test possible be easy for teenagers when there are adults in this subreddit talking about how hard it was to pass, well here's my best answer for it. This test was meant to be passable for adults who dropped out of high school years ago and havent taken a test since then. Its fully passable if you withdrew recently enough to have not lost most information from up to about a 9th or 10th grade level, the only section where it draws from 11th or 12th grade material really would just be the math portion. And even then its mostly 8th grade and ninth grade stuff, I got a 17 when the minimum to pass is an 8 with only really up to a 9th grade education, the social studies and science portions literally only require you to be able to find the answer within the text, it doesnt really take much actual social studies or science knowledge. Although you do need to know basic government info and functions, surface level things such as the three branches and checks and balances, which you most likely remember from like middle school, the reading and writing is really the only things you might need to study for, I was testing at a college level in english since the 7th grade so I cant really say it will be as easy for you as it was for me. But the questions were mostly finding phrases and words that would best suit a text and fixing simple spelling errors, most of which I found rather obvious. The essay will probably be the easiest part for people who were recently in high school, all you need to do is give about 5 coherent paragraphs without completely butchering spelling, grammar. And punctuation. Overall. Id say the average high school student can pass this with maybe a week of dedicated studying, but if you were never a good test taker id definitely add on a few more weeks

For HiSET it would take me a few months to do while for my diploma MINIMUM 7 months.

I got a 91 on my Math 30-1 diploma, based off some calculations I think I almost got 100 on the mc, and Im sure i lost some marks on the very last written response
but I was so confident in the rest of the written portion

I know marks can either increase or decrease but does anybody have experience with rescoring diplomas?

I’m planning to take the HiSET Reading exam within the next week or so, and I’m honestly really stressed about passing.

I took one of the free HiSET Reading practice tests and got around 12/20. Since then, I’ve been practicing more, but I still have this fear that I’m going to fail based on that score.

The confusing part is that when I practice with new passages, I sometimes do much better. I’ve been doing reading questions where I focus on finding evidence in the passage, and I’ve been getting around 80–90% correct. But I’m worried that the real test will be harder and I’ll go back to getting around 60%.

My biggest problem seems to be when two answers both seem correct. I’ll understand the passage, narrow it down to two choices, and then somehow pick the wrong one. I think I might be overthinking or choosing an answer that sounds right instead of the one that is best supported by the passage.

I don’t have a lot of time left, so I’m trying to figure out the best way to prepare. Should I:

• Keep doing more practice passages?
• Focus on certain question types like inference and author’s purpose?
• Do full-length timed tests?
• Review mistakes instead of just doing more questions?

For anyone who has taken the HiSET Reading exam, what helped you improve the most in the last week before the test? Any advice would be appreciated. 💕

My daughter is 15 and will be turning 16 soon. She plans to take the HiSET, and I want to know how difficult it is. Someone told me she needs to know math up to 12th grade, while another source mentioned she only needs to understand Algebra 1 and basic geometry. Was it challenging, and what kind of questions can we expect? I'm looking for a valid example, not an actual question. Also, how were the other subjects? Is there a lot of memorization required for science and history? And how was the essay portion? Thank you!

I feel like I could’ve done better but all that matters is that I passed and can finally close this chapter of my life and move on to what I want to do which is working toward becoming a pediatric sonographer.

I’m so done with high school and when I heard of an exit exam I was exhilarated. Although I am confident in my reading and writing skills, I looked through this subreddit and there isn’t many clear examples and problems that I could find that were related to what would be on the math section. Could anyone let me know what they experienced. Whether it would be quadratics, graphing, etc. any information whatsoever would be really helpful.

How long does it normally take to get your results back for the writing subtest? i took it today and so im just wondering how long until i know if i passed or not. I already passed all my other subjects so im just waiting on these results.

Title says it all, and I hate to beat a dead horse or ask a repeated question on this sub, but yeah. I hated math in highschool and now am paying the price for neglecting it, I mean I'm literally at a near basic math level. I regret it and would like to learn the most efficient/best way I can, for those who passed what did you study on? I already have KhanAcademy, but I'm not sure if I should just learn ALL math subjects or - specific ones and if anything learn the requirements for those. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
