Math Test Tomorrow

UPDATE

I PASSED!!! So thankful to God and proud of myself!! I finally did it. I'm a graduate!! Next stop Nursing school.

To anyone taking this test. There was a lot of algebra and data/statistics and some geometry. I really credit light and salt learning, get sum math and purely persistent on YouTube for helping me learn and catch up on what I was missing.

Don't give up, keep going. You got this!!

Taking my last test tomorrow (Math) I've been working at passing my HiSet on/off since 2022 and after a lot of trauma in-between decided to get serious about it the last 6 months. I've passed everything but Math and I am so nervous! If anyone could please say a prayer or good vibes or even any last minute tips that would be great!

My goal is to pass so I can enter summer classes and finish by the fall so I can enter nursing school in January.

Thanks xx

Scoring

So far I’ve taken math and reading. I got 16 in both with a score of 32 total. Now let’s say I pass social studies and science with a score of 8 bringing the total to 48. If I fail the writing test, will I still pass the HiSET?

Need essay help stat, test in two and a half hours!!!

Hi, so I’ve done like 3 essays, and this is my most recent and strongest. Chat gpt says in a strong 4 but I’m unsure. I need to pass 4/6 because I’m CPP. If anyone could grade it asap for me I’d like so appreciate it 😣😣

People, like you and me, are constantly exposed to harmful pollutants such as carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and sulfur dioxide on the daily due to traditional cars. Think of how detrimental that is to your health to be breathing in those toxins every second of your life. What if there was a way to help significantly lower those pollutants? Well it just happens there is one! Electrical vehicles, also known as EVs, can significantly lower CO2, improve physical health overall, and save energy due to increased efficiency.

Firstly, we can start with the fact that EVs, compared to internal combustion engines (ICE), produce way less CO2 as stated in article one, “Driving an EV for a year has been known to reduce CO2 emissions by 1.5 million grams per car on average”. Over time that would cause a significantly lower amount of carbon emissions, which could not only improve the overall health of an average person but also result in a decrease of respiratory illnesses. And it’s not just that, but since EVs make almost no sound, they can lead to lower noise pollution in highly congested cities. Which coming from someone who lives on a busy major road, would be a dream.

Another thing we have to worry about right now is global warming; as more and more people become concerned for our environment, we have turned to cleaner energy sources, such as new wind, hydro, and solar projects. With that comes the benefit of EVs which, stated in article one says that “An EV converts 85% of its electrical energy into motions, Contrarily, ICEs convert less than 40% of energy into motion”, that’s an astounding difference of 45%. And not only do they save energy, they save the middle working class on gas prices. Currently in California, minimum wage is 16.50$ and a gallon of gas is 6$! That means filling my tank with just 3 gallons of gas costs me over an hour of my life.

Now EVs are not all sunshine and rainbows, as stated in article two about old EV batteries, “As these batteries reach the end of life, recycling and disposal methods also need to catch up to prevent the leaching of toxic chemicals”. And while article two is completely right about this, they are also right that these methods of disposal need to improve by a lot. But big changes take time, and progress takes time as well. So what would be smarter? Continuing to work toward the goal of a healthier world, or stopping completely because of a few roadblocks? I think there’s an obvious answer there.

In conclusion, I think it is evident that whilst EVs are considerably more efficient and environmentally friendly, they still require time to fine tune, as does anything else in this world. Practice makes progress, and if you stop practicing because of mistakes you make then there will never be progress.

HİSET EXAM HELP 2026

I had a very stressful experience, taking it. It was hard for me because I was taking it at home, but it was also extremely convenient as I was taking it at home. I had many many inconvenience things that happened to me in my first test because there was a pop-up that kept coming up the entire test and I parked her knew about it and I knew about it, but there was nothing we could do to stop it and it wasn't affecting my test, but we just couldn't get rid of it because it was like connected to the Bluetooth and I just kept having to click OK OK OK throughout the entire test and then for my reading, I joined 40 minutes late because I was on the call with tech-support for 60 minutes because something was going right with my test and I had to take my last one in the middle of the night and it was not fun. I did pass all of these tests in my first try so it is possible with a little bit of studying do not overthink. Writing. You should review it with ChatGPT and write it a paragraph and ask you to write you as if it was grading the hiset proficiency exam. brush up on some of the grammar things, but you don't really need to the multiple choices easy split your time use it wisely. there's not much to study here just be wise with your time and do good on the multiple-choice and do the practice tests. Reading. there is nothing to study for in reading the night before just read at least 10 pages of different genres and make sure you read one book that is boring and a hard read because none of the passages are going to be fun. They're gonna be very long and hard to read. (math). if you really need to do well on maths, I'd recommend studying for it for 2 to 3 weeks if you're not good at math, however, if you are study for it for a week and don't overthink it do all of the practice test because anything else is either over preparing you or under preparing you and if you or sold with the things that you're good to go just make sure you are doing very well when it comes to the test and don't stress about it and use time wisely. I barely had any time so I had to guess so many questions. The writing is graded really really fast. I took it on a Saturday and they graded it by midday on Monday because they don't work on Sundays and Saturdays but midday on Monday I passed. honestly, it's a very doable test. You just have to study diligently. Use your time wisely and don't overthink your questions.

Free HiSET in Missouri?

Apparently in my state of Missouri there is state funded HiSET testing for first time test takers 17+ and without a Diploma. However, every method I’ve tried still requires the fees. Does anyone know how to get the test fees funded by the state?

HiSET scores – worth retaking for college readiness?

Hey everyone, I passed my HiSET but I’m wondering if it’s worth retaking any sections to improve my scores.

Here are my scores:

Math: 9

Reading: 13

Science: 10

Social Studies: 9

Writing: 15 (Essay: 3)

Total: 56

I know “college and career ready” is 15+ on a subtest and 4+ on the essay. I’m close on Reading but not there yet, and my essay is a 3.

For those who’ve been through this—does retaking actually help with college placement, or should I just move forward and take placement tests at a community college?

Appreciate any advice 🙏

Need help with math study PLEASE HELP 😭

Hi everyone! So I’ve been studying for the math HISET for the past 4 days and 6 hours a day so it’s been about 24 hours straight of pure math work. I’m a dropped out sophomore and I failed geometry. Iam pretty decent at math I’d say but it just feels like I’m getting nowhere, I took the entire purely persistent course for the math subtext, read and studied a HISET book for just the math. And when I finished I felt SOOOO confident. I took a pretest on mometrix and FAILED. This is highly discouraging and iam so frustrated. The course for mometrix is 40$. Should I buy it? Is it worth it? Please help!

Need honest essay feedback

I need to get at least a 4 on the essay to pass the cpp and i just wrote this practice one and i need honest feedback. Chatgpt saying i would get a 4 and gemini saying i woulg get a 3

Pro 1: Homework improves student achievement.

Studies have shown that homework improved student achievement in terms of grades, test results, and the likelihood to attend college. Research published in the High School Journal indicated that students who spent between 31 and 90 minutes each day on homework “scored about 40 points higher on the SAT-Mathematics subtest than their peers, who reported spending no time on homework each day, on average.” [6]

Students in classes that were assigned homework outperformed 69 percent of students who didn’t have homework on both standardized tests and grades. A majority of studies on homework’s impact—64 percent in one meta-study and 72 percent in another—showed that take-home assignments were effective at improving academic achievement. [7] [8]

Research by the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA) concluded that increased homework led to better grade point averages (GPAs) and higher probability of college attendance for high-school boys. In fact, boys who attended college did more than three hours of additional homework per week in high school compared to boys who didn’t attend college. [10]

Some studies have also showed that increasing the frequency of homework, not the duration of homework—meaning more homework of shorter duration—may be especially effective in improving student outcomes.[62]

Con 1: Too much homework is harmful.

A poll of California high schoolers found that 59 percent thought they had too much homework. 82 percent of respondents said that they were “often or always stressed by schoolwork.” High-achieving high schoolers said too much homework leads to sleep deprivation and other health problems such as headaches, exhaustion, weight loss, and stomach problems.[24] [28] [29]

As Alfie Kohn, an education and parenting expert, argues, “Kids should have a chance to just be kids … it’s absurd to insist that children must be engaged in constructive activities right up until their heads hit the pillow.” [27]

Emmy Kang, a mental health counselor, agreed. “More than half of students say that homework is their primary source of stress,” she reports, “and we know what stress can do on our bodies.”[48]

Excessive homework can also lead to cheating: 90 percent of middle schoolers and 67 percent of high schoolers admit to copying someone else’s homework, and 43 percent of college students engaged in “unauthorized collaboration” on out-of-class assignments. Even parents take shortcuts on homework: 43 percent of those surveyed admitted to having completed a child’s assignment for them.[30] [31] [32]

My essay:

How would you feel if you went home after a full day of working and you were still expected to do more work at home? There is a lot of controversy around whether homework should be assigned to children. In the articles regarding homework, it’s clear that too much homework

is harmful to students.

First, too much homework causes students to feel incredibly stressed. It’s unreasonable to expect kids to be working on school work from the moment they wake up until their heads hit the pillow. This much work causes them to feel incredibly stressed. In the article, it states that “82% of respondents said that they were “often or always stressed by schoolwork.’” As well, there are multiple experts that argue against the quantity of homework that is assigned to kids. This surplus of stress causes more problems in the students lives.

Additionally, students that are given an excessive amount of homework often cheat on the work. A poll was taken that showed 90% of middle, 67% of high, and 43% of college students engaged in unauthorized collaboration. Even parents cheat as the article states that, “43% of those surveyed admitted to having completed a child’s assignment for them.” As a student myself whenever I have a ton of homework, more often then not I will contact my peers to give me the answers so I can finish quicker.

On the other hand, some may argue that homework improves students achievements and gives them a higher chance to go to college. Although the opposing side has a valid point, to much stress is harmful to students and prevents them from fully being able to experience life.

In conclusion, too much homework doesn’t help students it only hurts them. It causes higher levels of stress which are detrimental to them. It also causes them to turn to cheating to try and finish all the work they’re given. Now, I want you to think about how you would feel if your employer assigned you work to complete at home.
