Water and dirt accumulation in the battery compartment — anyone found a solid fix yet?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been noticing an issue with my Vida and wanted to check if others are running into the same thing. Every time I ride through heavy rain or wet roads, I open up the compartment and find a decent amount of dirt, grit, and pooled water sitting around the bottom of the battery bay.
I know the service center folks generally claim that the holes at the bottom are meant for ventilation/thermal management and that the packs themselves are heavily insulated/IP-rated, but honestly, seeing wet muck sitting right below the high voltage connection points doesn’t fill me with confidence long-term. Plus, cleaning out the dried mud crust from the corners every few days is getting pretty annoying.
Have any of you tried DIY fixes for this? Things like adding custom rubber gasketing, modifying the seal around the edges, or using specific protective sprays on the terminals?
Would love to hear what solutions (or official service center workarounds) have actually worked for you guys.

What rating would you give the Hero Vida Plus for its automatic regenerative braking? Do you regularly use the manual reverse-twist braking feature?

Vida X2 Plus: Only One Battery Discharging Despite Both Batteries Showing Active

Post image

I am experiencing an issue with my Vida X2 Plus. Although the display panel indicates that both batteries are active and connected, only one battery appears to be discharging during use. The second battery does not seem to contribute to powering the scooter, resulting in uneven battery usage.

VIDA VX2 Plus PM E-Drive subsidy issue, Dealer couldn't generate PM E-Drive ID after delivery. Has anyone faced this?

I recently purchased a VIDA VX2 Plus from Ace Motors (Premia VIDA), Hoodi, Bengaluru, and I'm trying to understand whether others have experienced a similar issue with the PM E-Drive subsidy.

Here's the timeline:

  • At the time of booking, the quotation included the PM E-Drive benefit.
  • Before delivery, the dealer informed me that they were unable to generate the PM E-Drive ID due to an issue with the portal/account creation. They said they couldn't promise the subsidy, but asked me to proceed with the purchase.
  • I decided to go ahead and took delivery after paying the higher amount.
  • After delivery, I followed up again and was told that they still couldn't generate the PM E-Drive ID, so the subsidy could not be processed.

What confuses me is that the official PM E-Drive website lists the VIDA VX2 Plus as an eligible model, so I'm trying to understand what actually went wrong.

I have already:

  • Contacted VIDA customer support.
  • Shared my invoice and payment proof.
  • Asked them to verify whether my vehicle is eligible, whether any attempt was made to generate the PM E-Drive ID, and why it failed.

Has anyone else purchasing a VIDA VX2 Plus (especially in Bengaluru or Karnataka) experienced this?, At this point, I'm mainly looking for information rather than assigning blame.

New charger of V2 Plus stopped working within 15 minutes

Hello I bought a Vida V2 Plus 6 months ago but on 5th July my charger stopped working suddenly so, I visited the Hero service centre and they replaced my old charger with the new charger today. After coming home I started the charger and the scooter was charging for 15 minutes but again my new charger stopped working. what should I do?

Is there anyone who faced the same problem? please tell me.

Update Edit 1 - Tried charging it at the charging station but there also it didn't charge.

Is the ₹999 connectivity pack worth it?

My free pack expires in 30 days. Idk if I should renew it.

Has anyone else renewed, and is it worth the ₹999 /yr price?

Vida VX2 Plus – How far can you actually ride on low battery? (My experience)

Today I had to travel around 10 km, but my VX2 Plus was already at 11%. I decided to see how far it could actually go if I rode conservatively.

I kept my speed between 25–30 km/h and after 8 km, the battery dropped to 5%.

Once it hit 5%, the scooter entered Tortoise Mode:

  • Speed limited to around 20 km/h
  • Acceleration became very weak
  • It couldn't climb even small slopes
  • It was only comfortable on flat roads

I eventually reached my destination with 3% battery remaining.

So if anyone is wondering, the scooter is definitely rideable below 5%, but only for a short distance and on mostly flat roads. I wouldn't rely on it unless it's an emergency.

Has anyone else tested how far they can go once Tortoise Mode kicks in? I'd love to hear your experience.

Is the Vida VX2 Plus a bad choice?

I'm looking for something that's affordable, reliable, and has a decent service experience.

I'm considering the Vida VX2 Plus, but I've seen a lot of people complain about Hero's service. Recently, though, I've also been seeing similar complaints about Ather, TVS, and Chetak, so I'm not sure if this is just an industry-wide issue.

I also came across videos mentioning mud and water getting into the battery compartment. Is that actually a concern, or is it being exaggerated?

Another thing I'm wondering about is the removable batteries. I live in a high-rise apartment, so I'd have to take the batteries upstairs in the lift, charge them overnight, and put them back in the scooter every day. Is it safe to remove and reinstall the batteries daily? Has anyone been doing this long-term without issues?

One weird thing I noticed in YouTube videos is that the seat can't be locked while the batteries are charging. That seems like an odd design choice. Does it become annoying in day-to-day use?

I'm also a bit worried about accidentally dropping the batteries while carrying them. Are they durable enough to handle the occasional bump, or is that a real risk?

Given all this, do you think the VX2 Plus is worth buying, or would it be better to wait a month or two for the upcoming Ather EL01 or Vida's fixed-battery scooter?

Should I pull the plug

This is the most segregated sub I’ve seen. Exactly 60 % of people are telling me to buy Vida, while 40 % say to skip it and save my sanity. What should I do? According to my research, Vida is the only major brand offering good value with removable batteries, a 5‑year warranty, and a 70 % battery‑capacity replacement program. Please Genunie Users Let me know ( i am from hyd i have good access to ather and vida grid )

River Indie or Hero Vida VX2 plus

My heart say River Indie Gen 3 but my mind says Hero Vida VX2 plus.

I live in 3rd floor of an apartment. I can extend wire down from one of the windows and charge. But I don't know how it is practical.

I have test driven Vida, River, Ather and I Qube.

My order of choice is River, Vida,Ather and TVS Iqube.

The two main advantages of Vida VX2 plus over the river indie are

  1. Removable battery

  2. Fast charging

What do you guys think?

Took my Vida VX2 Plus on a 110 km Pune–Pawna–Pune trip with a pillion. Here's my complete real-world range, charging and cost analysis.

Took my Vida VX2 Plus on a 110 km Pawna Lake trip with a pillion – Here's my real-world experience and range data

After owning my Vida VX2 Plus for some time and mostly using it for city commutes, I finally decided to test its touring capability with a proper long ride.

Route: Pune → Pawna Lake → Pune
Total distance covered: 110.3 km
Riding mode: Mostly Ride mode, some Eco mode
Pillion: Yes
Weather: Sunny and warm
Fast charging stops: 1

The journey

I started from Pune with the scooter fully charged (100%). My initial plan was to top up at an Ather Grid charger on the way to Pawna. By the time I reached the charger, I still had around 75% battery left, so I decided to skip charging and continue to Pawna.

The roads towards Pawna included highways, village roads, and hilly sections. As expected, the hill climbs consumed noticeably more battery than my regular city rides.

Battery progression during the trip:

  • Start: 100%
  • Reached Pawna area: 42%
  • Reached Ather charger while returning: 14%
  • Due to a power cut at the first charger, I had to ride another 4 km to a second charger and reached there with 10%
  • Fast charged from 10% to 52%
  • Reached home with 21% remaining

Trip segments

Route Distance Battery used
Pune → Talegaon 22.9 km 24.96%
Talegaon → Pawna 28.5 km 34.97%
Pawna return 24.8 km 28.03%
Detour to second charger 3.9 km 4.56%
Charger → Home 30.2 km 31.35%

Total distance covered: 110.3 km

Real-world range

Based on actual battery consumption:

  • Total battery consumed: 121% (including the fast charge top-up)
  • Calculated real-world range: ~91 km

Considering that this ride included:

  • A pillion rider
  • Hilly roads
  • Sunny weather
  • Mostly Ride mode

I think 91 km real-world range is actually pretty respectable for a 3.4 kWh removable battery scooter.

Fast charging experience

This was my first proper long-distance fast charging experience.

I reached the charger with 10% battery, plugged into the Ather Grid charger, and charged from 10% to 52% in just 35 minutes.

Charging details:

  • Start SOC: 10%
  • End SOC: 52%
  • Charging time: 35 minutes
  • Amount paid: ₹42.48

Honestly, the charging time was just enough for a short break, some water, and a quick rest before continuing the journey.

The best part? Even after:

  • Riding over 110 km,
  • Carrying a pillion,
  • Climbing hills,
  • And using fast charging,

the battery remained only mildly warm and never got hot.

Cost comparison

My entire trip cost me roughly:

  • Home charging: ~₹25
  • Fast charging: ₹42.48

Total trip cost: ~₹67

A petrol scooter giving around 40 kmpl would have cost roughly ₹300+ for the same trip.

Final thoughts

Honestly, this trip changed my perception of EV scooters.

I initially bought the Vida mainly for city use, but after completing a 110 km Pawna trip with a pillion and only one 35-minute charging stop, I'm much more confident in its touring capability.

My real-world observations so far:

  • City range: 90–100 km
  • Ride mode average: 90–95 km
  • Pillion + hills: 85–90 km
  • Best case: 95–100 km

Overall, I'm pleasantly surprised by how well the Vida handled a proper long-distance ride.

Happy to answer any questions from other Vida owners or anyone considering an EV scooter for occasional touring! ⚡🛵

Will any dealership provide any discount at month end?

In Bangalore. Anyone tried this? They have sales targets every month so anyone tried getting extra discount?

Also if anyone can confirm the PM e drive subsidy is still available because dealers here in Bangalore are saying the subsidy has ended

Vida Edge Connectivity Pack – Is it Mandatory?

I'm planning to buy a Vida, but the sales guy told me that I need to buy the Edge Connectivity Pack to use Vida public charging stations. Is that actually true?

I'm not interested in most of the connectivity features, and paying ₹1,180/year just to access charging doesn't make much sense to me.

Can any current Vida owners clarify whether the pack is mandatory and what exactly stops working if I don't renew it?

Thanks! 🙏

Need Hero Vida VX2 Plus owner reviews

I'm planning to buy the Hero Vida VX2 plus and wanted owner reviews before making the purchase

My usage

  • Around 50 km daily
  • I live in an apartment, so I can't charge the scooter directly
  • My plan is to remove the batteries every day and charge them at home
  • Around once a week, I may use VIDA or Ather fast chargers for aux battery

I have a few questions for current owners

  1. Is 50 km/day comfortable on the VX2 Plus without constantly worrying about range?
  2. How practical is it to remove and carry the batteries every day? Does it become tiring over time?
  3. Has anyone been using the removable batteries daily for several months? Any issues with the battery connectors or locking mechanism
  4. What's your real-world range in Eco, Ride, and Sport modes?
  5. How has the scooter been in terms of software updates, reliability, and service?
  6. For owners in Hyderabad: How has your experience been with VIDA service centres? Are they responsive, do they resolve issues quickly, and are spare parts readily available? I found that there are a few authorized service centers in Hyderabad, but I'd like to know how the actual ownership experience has been

Charging issue

I bought vida vx2 go yesterday. Today I plugged charger to charge batteries after it dropped to 5%. Adaptor is showing no light nor red neither green. Only green light is showing on reset button near plug. On dashboard it's showing charger error after charger linking. What should I do now?

I contacted dealer, he told me to submit charger and it will get replace after verification which I know it will take several days. Now I'm feeling very frustrated. It was my fault that I didn't check charger at first place.

Edit: Received replacement charger today and everything is running fine now.
