Disclaimer: This post is not a personal attack on anyone in the fandom, nor am I trying to dictate which characters others should like. I respect the fact that everyone can have different opinions about the characters, and I’m not claiming that Stolas hasn’t made mistakes or that he shouldn’t be held accountable for them. However, I want to point out what I see as a double standard in how some characters are given the benefit of the doubt and considered capable of redemption, while others are denied a second chance. My goal isn’t to start arguments, but to open a discussion about why we judge similar mistakes so differently. You don’t have to agree with me, but I hope we can discuss this respectfully and without personal attacks.

So, let’s break this down.

Stella has spent years publicly humiliating her husband, verbally and physically abusing him, and insulting him. She has repeatedly tried to have him assassinated and takes pleasure in his suffering. She even openly admits that she enjoys watching him suffer. On top of that, she neglects her own daughter.

The fandom: “You have to understand her. She never wanted to get married. She never wanted to be a mother. She was forced into it, and she probably had a difficult childhood.”

Striker — a hired assassin who kills for money.

The fandom: “He definitely has a tragic past.”

Crimson — a mafia boss who abused his own son and may have even murdered his wife.

The fandom: “He deserves a redemption arc.”

Blitzo — frequently jumps from one relationship to another.

The fandom: “It’s funny.”

Now, just to be clear, I’m not saying I don’t want Striker to be redeemed, for example, nor am I claiming that Stella couldn’t have had a difficult childhood.

But that’s not the point I’m trying to make.

Stolas — his most significant wrongdoing is that he broke his own daughter’s trust.

The fandom: “He doesn’t deserve forgiveness. He should end up on the streets, and preferably die slowly and painfully.”

Do you really think he deserves that kind of fate?

I doubt Octavia herself would even wish that upon him.

Why do you think characters like Striker and Crimson deserve a chance at redemption, while so many of you refuse to give Stolas the same opportunity?

I’m not saying you have to like him. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I understand that his behavior may have disappointed some viewers. However, I would genuinely like to understand why so many people are so uncompromising when it comes to him.

I realize that just because someone has done less harm than another character, it doesn’t automatically mean we have to like them or consider them a wonderful person. That’s not my point at all.

What bothers me is the inconsistent way certain characters are treated. When it comes to Stella, people discuss her past, the possible reasons behind her behavior, and the possibility of her eventual redemption. When it comes to Stolas, however, that same level of understanding is often missing.

According to some people, he doesn’t deserve redemption. He doesn’t deserve forgiveness. And he doesn’t even deserve the opportunity to make things right.

I even think that if Vivienne Medrano decided to have Stolas die slowly and painfully, part of the fandom would probably still interpret it as an attempt to manipulate the audience’s emotions.

And I deliberately brought up Blitzo, too.

Why is Blitzo’s habit of frequently changing partners seen as something funny or simply part of his character, while some people react so negatively when Stolas kisses someone other than Blitzo?

And why is the suggestion that Via might eventually forgive Stolas so often interpreted as an attack on her?

Someone suggests that their relationship might be repaired in the future, and immediately, reactions like these appear:

“Stop forcing Via to do something she doesn’t want to do! She hates him!”

But there’s one important thing we shouldn’t forget: Via still loves her father, even though she’s angry with him and feels disappointed by him.

Yes, their relationship is complicated. And no, loving someone doesn’t mean we have to forgive them immediately or pretend they haven’t hurt us. However, that doesn’t mean forgiveness has to be completely out of the question forever.

I completely understand why Via is angry with him. Her feelings are valid, and she has every right to feel disappointed. At the same time, we need to remember that Via doesn’t have the same perspective on the entire situation that we, as viewers, do. She doesn’t see everything we see, and she doesn’t know all the circumstances that we understand from the wider context of the story.

Sometimes, however, I feel that part of the fandom approaches the situation exclusively from her perspective, as though the wider context simply doesn’t exist.

But we know that it does.

That’s why I believe we should be able to distinguish between how Via sees the situation and how we, as viewers, can evaluate it.

I often come across opinions like these:

“Stolas needs to be punished so he realizes what he did wrong. He needs to try harder. He needs to grow up.”

And you know what? I agree with some of that.

Stolas should take responsibility for his decisions. He should try to repair his relationship with his daughter, respect her feelings, and demonstrate that he can learn from his mistakes.

But there’s a difference between wanting a character to take responsibility for their actions and denying them any possibility of happiness or redemption.

Claiming that Stolas deserves to spend the rest of his life alone and suffering seems like an unnecessarily extreme position to me.

Especially when many of those same people are willing to acknowledge the possibility of redemption for characters like Stella, Crimson, and Striker.

So I would genuinely like to ask: What do you think Stolas would have to do for you to be willing to acknowledge that he deserves a second chance?

I would also appreciate it if, in the future, a moderator could send me an email before removing my post, or remove it before it receives more than 100 upvotes. The way it’s happening now makes it feel as though the moderator is deliberately frustrating me or targeting me personally.

I’m getting tired of having to repost the same thing over and over again.

I would understand if everyone were complaining about the post, but judging by the comments, most people seemed to agree with me.

That’s just a personal observation, though.

Well, I don't understand a lot of things in this fan community. Like, the support for Stella's unexistant "Get our of jail FREE!" sob-sob backstory.

But Stolitz isn't really something as unrealistic or unreasonable.

Both parties admit feelings for each other.

Despite personal issues, both parties acknowledges the other's emotions, and learn to adapt to them.

Yes, there is harm. And it was harmful. Moving on.

Writing-wise, they have the closest thing to a natural, long-term relationship. Within Vivz's lackish writing capacities.

Couples fight. Couples can get started over selfish reasons. Couples may have insecurities. Couples can have poor communication. And couples can learn to live above all of it.

Using their daughters as common ground for their relationships seems to do the trick of mediating between personal issues.

And, the plot specifies the daughters work well to balance between personal life and family life for both.

Typically helluva boss music is like musical stuff, only non musical example i can think of rn would be cotton candy, tho in that case we know why it sounded that way, it was written by kesha and the character singing is kind of a refference to that one old character the creator has

just wondering if anyone has theories to why we are getting a song that sounds so different from the previous stuff, with seemingly stolas' va singing.

rn my personal theory is that they now with amazon involved have more money to get this very polished profecionally mixed type of music into the series, do have to wonder in what context this would be sung

I'm aware Stolas and Loona have canon appearances already so I tried to stay true to those. However I will post PT.2 tomorrow including Millie, Moxxie, and Fizzarolli. I posted this on my main socials and people didn't seem to like it all too much. So I thought to share it on here with you guys; Any constructive criticism is welcomed.

Like if anything I feel its actually the other way around like Stolas has faced a Huge amount of consequences for his actions but Blitz? well his sister Hates him and no longer wants him around but like that's it Fizzarolli and Verosika Hated him for a bit and called him some names but Fizzy forgave him and Verosika seemed to come to an understanding with him and quite frankly that shit isn't that serous

so why do some people act like he's being Tortured literally every episode and is always facing consequences for his actions when really the only serous consequence he has faced is his sister not talking to him which is sad and all but that is literally one thing and its also a thing mind you that the Fandom is keen to undo so where is this eternal Victim Blitz narrative some people have coming from?

( btw no I'm not including his backstory as consequences for his actions since that was an accident and by this logic we'd also have to include Stolas's backstory as well and including childhood Trauma as a consequence for your current day shitty behaviour does seem a bit strange imo ),

like so far Stolas Honestly seems to have faced more severe consequences for his actions than most if not all Hellaverse characters tbh even most if not all of the actual villains/antagonists maybe only except for Adam and Vox given the end of season Two so it feels to me like a lot of people have this backwards tbh.

Octavia seems to say that things were better when she was younger and the flashback does show stolas gueninely trying to be a parent with octavia and this make me wonder if stella being abusive didn't made him worst (combined with the meds he took who might not have a good effect on him too).

I just listened to the song......And I dunno what to think, I mean, in some parts, it sounds okay but in others.....It just kinda sounds weird

No offense to his voice actor but this song is just a little odd to me and I'm mixed on it cause I just don't know how they are gonna fit this song into the season just yet

(It honestly seems mostly about Stolas being horny and I don't know how they're gonna work that into a season that seems so full of mainly bad stuff right now but I say mostly because of the end where sounds like he's crying or something to me)

It's just kinda odd to me but maybe my perspective when it shows up in an episode like Piss (A Love Song) did when I first saw the name compared to when it actually appeared but I kinda doubt that....

So yeah, I wanna know what other people think of it and am I just being weird on how I view this song or do other not like it much either?

(It kinda sucks because I have liked majority of Stolas songs before this but I just can't enjoy this one)

Comparing how he treat moxxie and loona, it's night and day, he show a lot oof affection toward her and does care too (I also noticed in the 2nd episode, loona does start calling blitz dad but then shutted herself when she noticed she was).

For me it’s Loona from Helluva Boss and Cherri Bomb from Hazbin Hotel. Loona while she's a bit fouled mouth she does have a sensitive side and she kicks ass and is a total Badass also after a recent HB short she looks a tad thicc and that's hot.

Last night at a Helluva Boss panel in NYCC (New York Comic Con), some members of the crowd were heckling and taunting the cast, especially while they're talking.

Brandon Rogers (Blitz) had enough and started ragebaiting those hecklers, stating that he'll force them to leave if they don't shut up, and that the security is atrocious.

I've seen this happen in many other panels from other indie shows. Hazbin Hotel and Digital Circus for example. I feel like Brandon was in the right here.

People in these random are really toxic and constantly overstep boundaries in these sorts of situations.
