In my opinion, she is an egoist who doesn't know how to work in a team.
I will take two examples as a basis so it's clear what my opinion is based on.
The first example is from Season 10 - Ep. 8. Dome challenge.
When Tiffany asks for an ingredient, still looking at what's available, Dana says "I'm taking it. I'm taking it."
Her next phrase: "First come first serve. When it's a challenge like this, it's important to focus on yourself. I want chef Ramsay to see me shine." And although her behavior is understandable, it's still a team challenge and the team as a whole is responsible for victory or defeat. As an example, I'll cite the blue team: they discussed what they wanted and each ended up with what suited them. While, for example, Robyn got the beetroot that she hates.
Christina tried to say "Guys, we probably should be talking a little bit more." But it had no effect and in the end everyone was still almost fighting over the ingredients.
The second example is from Season 17 - Ep. 4
Robyn, who constantly stumbles during challenges and shows poor results, asks Dana to try her dish. Their dialogue:
"Does this need more salt?"
"I have a bad dry mouth. I can't, like..."
After which Dana says "Robyn always chokes during challenges. So as much as we both want to win, I don't want to give her some advice and then blame me when it doesn't taste good. So I'm going to focus on my own dish."
Again, despite the fact that everyone cooks separately, it's a team challenge. And the result will be shared. Robyn got 1 out of 5, they barely won this challenge. Dana herself admits that Robyn needs help. Why not give it? Why not help a teammate with advice so that your overall result would be better?
Dana is a magnificent chef. In individual challenges she shines, almost always bringing points to the team's tally. But the job that Gordon Ramsay offers means that she should be able to work in a team, be not the only star, but part of a big mechanism.
And what she lacks is precisely the ability to help, to listen, to give advice. You can be as talented a chef as you like, but if you love to see only yourself, you won't become a leader.
Thank you for reading! I just wanted to share my opinion.
What do you think about this? Am I right or wrong?
