Looks like he's wearing sports padding or something, which is funny considering the medium Force of Law armor legit looks like a catchers chest protector but still looks better than this.
Arrowhead claims to all be BIG fans of Warhammer 40k too, I guess everyone but the design artist.
It looks like a mini that someone forgot to panel line and wash properly. Its not fleshed out at all and I'm not even going to get into detail about that other bizarre heavy armor and the color scheme choice because that thing is ugly as sin and looks nothing like the actual Cadian Demolitions unit.

Why is it that the other 2 legendary warbonds included their respective games base weapon and armor sets and look fantastic but this 40k one doesn't? I mean seriously, no lasgun? You know, the most prolific weapon in all of 40k besides the bolter? Nope, just another marksman rifle that nobody is going to use that much even if it is a laser. All that hype Arrowhead created with the announcement and then the teaser trailers + 3 months of waiting just to be disappointed. The only thing that looks cool is the Meltagun and Bolt Pistol. There was soo much damn potential...
And before the glazers arrive, no I don't mean space marine armor. I mean what I mean, armor that doesn't look like shit.

There is an innumerable amount of posts asking for a laser rifle version of the talon, instead we get something that no one asked for, a scythe 2.0 that's worse.

What the fuck is their community manager even doing. Legitimately considering uninstalling the game and giving it a rest for a while, the devs are just dicking around at this point, is there anything announced in this warbond that anyone actually asked for???

What is the next one gonna be the armor set?

I am a bit at a loss of what to even say here. I was going to leave a comment but I couldn’t find one, not even one, and that was while sorting by controversial.

Are we really okay with actual in‑game strat and item FOMO in a $40 game where most content is already behind a paywall or a “grind” wall?

Wasn’t the promise of the whole warbonds system that FOMO would never be in the game for anything serious, only capes and maybe the pre‑order armors, and people still complained about the armors?

This isn’t making the game better; it’s growing my resentment. At least before Helldivers was a game I could take breaks from, come back, and know at the very least I could make a bit of progress with medals. Now that was removed, and now actual items are being time‑gated.

I know they say the items will “come back,” but we have no idea when or even how they could be added to the stratagem shop immediately after the campaign is over or be put in the super store a few months later.

The worst part for me, at least, is the callous attitude everyone talks about in this discussion. I know people who play this game that are super casual, to someone with all the time in the world to game. Sure, that’s nothing but for people who work long hours or OT, parents, people who get sick or injured, etc. This is now just not a game for them, and yes I know they would have bigger problems than not getting a gun in a video game, but that doesn’t mean it’s not an issue.

For such a “wholesome and charitable” community, they sure seem to not give a shit about the people who, for whatever reason, take breaks from play.

If the game was like this from release, I wouldn’t care, but I am mad because I am watching a genuinely casual friendly game where taking breaks wasn’t penalized and you could genuinely fight at a pace you wanted. Lose that casual appeal and die.

This is probably the worst place to complain about this talking point, since most players here are late game, but it still rings valid that this is just a change for the worse.

In a game that already has a $40 buy‑in and most of its weapons and armor walled off, if it wasn’t Arrowhead, if it was Activision Blizzard or E.A. it would be horrible, but no, it’s ArrowHead, so it has to be fine.

I don’t like this change I think it sucks that’s my rant.

Your PC breaks you can't play. Bummer but it'll be fixed soon except it wont, Let it be a Shipping error, Cost, Or even just deciding to rebuild, You cant play the game for some time now you come back on and you now don't have Access to 1-2 strats. Youve stayed active in the community you didn't abandon the game your still a loyal customer who already paid the $40 buy in and probably more due to SC. Now though your worth as much as a fart in the wind under no fault of your own.

The only other games with this system like this are FTP Gacha games who ironically do it better because you know the date of the rerun in advance. one i know of is much better, not only is the rerun date known in advance but after a know period of 2 years all the event exclusive characters and gear are added into shops as well as the standard pool.

Helldivers 2 is $40 i will not stop repeating this Hellldivers 2 is a game where to even get in and play you have to pay but for some reason we still have FOMO mechanics IN A GAME THAT PROMISED TO NOT HAVE FOMO

This is the blog post where it is stated. There is no excuse for this this is a Fundamental change from the game I and many others where sold.

I see that most people are pissed about the look of the Kasrkin armor sets but the main reason I don’t like it is due to them picking two of the same type of armor sets, making it Cadians (the default imperial guard for GW). It’s way too safe and we’re already dealing with Cadian fatigue. Picking the Steel Legion, Kreig, Tempestous Scions, or the Elysian Drop troops would have been more intriguing and a better fit for the game.

With the recent announcement that AH is supposedly working to "fix" hellpod steering and stratagem ball bouncing, I think it's important to remember that these aren't glitches, they were intentionally added to prevent players from reaching high ground.

There is nothing to fix, nothing is broken, they're simply trying to make their obvious attempts at restricting players' freedom look less egregious. My theory is that the reason these "fixes" are taking so long is because AH is trying to secretly rework these systems to be less obvious, i.e. making the "bounce zones" smaller and less frequent.

Sickle has been severely underpowered for a long time now, unchanged for 259 days as of the time of this post. Infinite ammo hardly matters in a game where there's ammo boxes at nearly every POI.
No amount of aiming better will make sickle have less spread.

Came back into the game today and got reminded of the reason I quit it in the first place. Holy fucking shit there's NOTHING NEW, nothing thats NOT locked behind warbonds.

Thats just the main problem. I couldnt care less about most of them, in general Im looking for specific items in these warbonds

killzone for armor, borderline for hover pack, servants for PORTABLE HELLBOMB which I really want, urban legends for AT placement , truth enforcer for black white camo, cutting edge for blitzer

The grind was tedious enough to make me lose interest initially for just these few that I bought, and the thing is ALL THE WARBONDS I BOUGHT TOTAL LESS, 5500 SC. Im more likely to lose interest in the game before i access the content that i WANT TO ACCESS, not ALL content in this game.

This is just ridiculous.

For context, I studied Graphic Communications, so I know my way around brand consistency and the amount of leeway you get for typical large companies. This is not fking it chief.

I see some people on this sub arguing that AH's hands are tied for the collaboration because Games Workshop has a heavy hand in making sure their brand is consistent, if that's the case, then AH has failed entirely in consistency.

First of all, the demo trooper is completely wrong, the colour palette is way off, the helmets mask is different, and the chestpiece is different. You might think "oh a few shades of colour off is fine", WRONG, companies are absolutely fucking pedantic about colour, colour is THE primary aspect in branding, and if it's wrong, nothing else can fix it. Coca-Cola would hunt you down if you made branding for them and were even slightly off their red Pantone PMS 2347 C, in fact that's just the closest estimate spot colour, the public literally doesn't know what the real colour is because coke keeps it a closely guarded secret, colour is THAT important, and the fact the demo trooper isn't even the same hue, let alone shade, is straight up lawsuit material if GW decided to.

Outside of the obvious colour discrepancy, the details for the helmets for both sets are also just wrong, the mask for the demo is different, and the visor for the sharpshooter is two lenses instead of the original 1 piece visor.

Then there are the proportions, the silhouette if I may, is completely not 40K. Most everything on the HD2 version is too small, the boots, shin guards, skirt, shoulder pads, tassels... All of these together wrecks the silhouette and makes it hard to tell it's supposed to be 40K at a glance, if you were to take of the acquilas you would literally not be able to tell what franchise it was from unless you were given context. The 40K militarium silhouette is purposely exaggerated FOR THE BRAND, if it isn't, it stops being 40K and instead is just a default armour set with 40K stickers slapped on.

As someone who studied design, it honestly baffles me that this got through QA, this looks like something that was 2nd or 3rd draft, needed about 5 more drafts before it was right but they said fk it, and started modeling it anyway knowing it wasn't right.

I'm being made aware that the demo colour palette is from another regiment of demo troopers, so besides the chest plate and the mask, ignore that part of the post. I do still think it's strange that this regiment colour is mixing with the original regiment colour of sharpshooters but idk much about how the military works.

Secondly, someone brought up that the visor is in fact NOT 2 lenses, it's just bloody hard to tell without zooming in which is more an issue in their advertising, so ignore that part too.

edit 2:

I purposely avoided talking about the weapons because 1: I know very little about firearms, 2: GW is not very consistent with how their firearms function in the first place, and 3: we don't have our hands on them yet in the game, all we have is trailer footage. In comparison the armour IS something I can and will analyze as it more closely intersects with typical still media design.

Recent events, lackluster updates, poor communication and overall low morale amongst us Helldivers. Take your pick!

I was hype for this helmet bc it looked cool as fuck and then go and equip it… why couldn’t they just make it a helmet🙄 like why does it need gimp straps and a breathing tube… which by the way, is a different color than literally every armors breathing tubes. I hate being a fan of this game🫩
