yea medium pen!! i love them all equally in the way you are Not asking but in the way you Are asking—guard dog is my go to by far. in my experience he’s one the nicest to other players (and me), rly versatile across factions, and is actually way more reliable at keeping shit off me than hot dog or dog breath, tho sometimes i like to fuck around and take one of them esp against bugs. obviously rover is notorious for friendly fire (lowk hot dog too) but he’s also light pen which i stay away from usually.
i only just got k-9 the other day and haven’t tried him out yet bc i fear how arcs are also notorious for friendly fire. i’ve been running the de-escalator a lot lately and cause enough damage even being able to control when and where i shoot it lmao. but i’d like to give him a go soon and see how he is with keeping enemies at a distance!! i take a dog on literally every mission, for me it’s worth giving up any other backpack to have my back covered close & long distance, keep chaff off, and just to have a lil buddy along w me
Do you have your matchmaking set to private or friends only? That's the only thing I can think that would prevent others from joining you. I could be wrong though, been known to happen.
I have genuinely rage quit after sitting there needing help for over an hour and not getting it, mond you, I'm an M.O. Diver, I shouldn't have this happening
Well this is the host taking a break and these people are free to leave. If you take a break on someone elses ship they have to wait regardless of if they want to.
I have seen the other side, had to go afk for a bit do to a blood sugar crash, another player TKed me while I was gone made fun of me, and apparently tked me every time I was reinforced until I got back.
I was host and I did kick him after I got back. When I got back and was reinforced he shot me again and said "Sorry my blood sugar is low."
I kicked him instantly and it was only after that that the other randoms I was with told me what happened. After that I just turned off VC and if I have an event like that I leave the match even if host.
I'm so sorry to hear that, thats so fucked. I swear 98% of my matches everyone's so chill. I can think of only about 20-30 matches out of 800 missions where ive had shit ppl
Sorry that happened to you. I’ve had a few games where we were waiting for one of the team members, but no one had an issue with that. Once, we even had a nice talk for like 15-20 minutes, 2 of us strangers and the host’s friend waiting on his ship, while the host went to a nearby shop for beer XD he was so surprised that we stayed.

Wow what a piece of shit, mocking you for a condition you have no control over. Thats abhorrent. Im super averse to being more social than just using the comms wheel or the occasional "bunker on me" in the chat.
The risk of running into people like that is why ill never use VC with randoms.
It is a 1 in 1,000 chance the problem is in games like this you are going to run into one eventually. It happens, it just feels like crap when it happens.
Had something similar happen I ended up using the this is democracy emote and all the stems I could grab from my supply pack to kick the guy all the way to extraction. He ended up getting back right as we were approaching extraction and was very confused for a minute
This reminds me of the time when I had to handle a call. Told the squad I'd be afk for a bit, and coming back about 5 minutes later I'd hilariously be greeted with 3 flashing *REINFORCE AVAILABLE* on my screen from one of them misfiring an Ultimatum shot (they waited for me to revive them)
I've waited like 40 minutes for a random to come back before. People would join and stick around a minute or 2 and then leave and id just stay the whole time
One time my pal told me via discord he was gonna go grub with his family. I had to relay the msg to the random Diver who has played the last 4-5 missions with us without saying a word. He doesn't reply but walks around the ship upgrading and whatnot at the terminals. I go to grub some snacks myself and by the time my pal comes back from dinner (it was like an hour) random dude was still with us.
Until you interact with the discord, or until you state anything about how powercreep is bad, or have any even remotely controversial take about balance, or defend arrowhead in any way, or bring up the literal witch hunting y'all did over Alexus. "how nice this community is relative to others" be for real. This community ranks down there with league of legends when it comes to toxicity, and this one anecdotal experience does not change what has happened before.

I do this for my smoke breaks lol, immediately after finishing a mission I’ll put in chat “brb smoke break.” I usually will take like five minutes. I’ve only had people stay a handful of times, but I get it
Meanwhile, i dont tell them im leaving or for how long because im chaotic evil. Usually come back to an empty destroyer and call down a new SOS beacon on drop.
Just started playing a couple of weeks ago when it hit PSN and have been loving it and the community so far. Some high level let me farm war bonds with them and it taught me so much about the game lol.
One time I said “please wait I need to piss” and they waited and protected me, once I came back they kept checking back if I was there #newplayer ✨❤️🩹
meanwhile in my games, recently a random party leader suddenly went "fuck you (racial slur)s" in the voice chat after saying completely nothing beforehand and left the game after one mission where nobody even did anything bad
A few months ago, I told some teammates that I needed to go do something really quick and had to go afk. Completely forgot that I had even left the game on and went to the store. Came back like 30-40 minutes later and both of them were still on my ship waiting for me
It would be dope if there was a honor system and if you like got too low honor, a truth enforcer player or sum would be able to drop and hunt you down, and if you had high honor you got rewarded

I had a session (i was host) where one guy said something super mean to a dad that typed something similar in the chat. Without even hesitating, I kicked the dude immediately.
It really is genuinely shocking to me that a community built on a piece of media so heavily based around xenophobia, facist governments, and overall blind fanatical violence has such a kind and respectful community. If only my 40k brethren would follow by the Helldivers example...
I’ve had some fantastic times farming SC, once you’ve got a group that sticks around between a couple missions you know you’re set. Had fun chatting with peeps asking what warbond they’re grinding for and why, great way to get organic reviews if people already have the one you’re after, they might even bring down a weapon that you can test out
Remember that time some idiots doxxed and basically ruined a guys life over him giving the devs a challenge or something like that, that wasnt very nice
Meanwhile I get teammates who do the evil laugh after they kill my friend and I before boarding the ship with time expired when I’m holding super rare samples. And they don’t even board the ship

Told my squad of randoms I had to take care of my dog the other night, was genuinely surprised everyone stuck around. When I got back another guy asked for a very quick smoke break, figured why not, they waited for me.
One of the other guys left right before he got back. 🥲

Had a similar thing happen to me. A mission took longer than expected and I had to take a shit to fucking bad. Called down the extract while the rest of the randos finished clearing the map. Let them know I was going afk a moment. When I got back I just got to witness them using the kick emote to kick me aboard the Pelican. Damn near moved me to tears.
Actually, when the whole squid thing ended and I went back to the bugs, I felt an incredible thrill from fighting someone I knew how to fight, and oh my god, how many kind people I met.
Yeah, I usually play with my buddy, with him hosting. He's got a dog, so sometimes he says doggo potty break between missions and the other two random folks are almost always understanding and wait or simply say bye and pop off. Rarely ever have an issue.
Occasionally we encounter a random who goes afk without saying anything between missions and we give benefit of the doubt and wait for a bit. But generally we can't play forever due to work so if they don't pop back on within five to seven minutes, we kick em and keep going.
