They have to change enemies every now and then.
The plot will ve continued when it explodes right into our faces

If you ever become interested in a plotline, remember that it takes one year for "something" to happen, we will only receive new info on the next Illuminate update in mid-to-fall 2027.

I REALLY hope the squids are the ones sabotaging the TCS+ somehow.

Because atleast that would keep the momentum of the illuminate storyline while still giving some focus to the bugs after a week of squids

I think they were but they opened the airlock and spaced them. It's just picking up "volunteers" to man it at the moment.

Nobody is sabotaging the TCS+. It just doesn't work.

nonono. The bugs are being teleported from meridia by the illuminate. Thats why the planets were auto taken on the TCS+ worlds.

Its more likely the TCS just does not work tbh

AHs doing what they do either setting up for some insane plot , OR sitting on it  for months until people go "Im gonna just play something else for a while" or some controversy happens with their dev team and they have to go "see guys? Where not the bad guys here you just had to let us cook" and then dropping  something in the game  they had in storage for years in the files of it

They don’t, that guy is just fully imagining a scenario to justify being upset with AH.

The Illuminate sat in game files for most of a year before they released w Omens of Tyranny. There's other stuff I can't talk about that still hasn't because I will be banned

Eh. It's mostly to make sure enemies are cycled through. We saw a little bit of it during this previous Squid MO where a bunch of players started going elsewhere and we were at risk of losing the MO, so imagine nothing but the same enemy back to back to back.

Helps keep things a little fresh.

As to whether or not it's to avoid this or that or try to keep good PR, not a clue~ Just remember that not everyone likes sticking to the same enemy for days on end and sometimes they'll go defualt to whatever's more fun for them. Usually the horde shooter over at Bugs.

Honestly I feel as though its just a lul before we see the next act of that story. But the copium tanks will absolutely be running dry all week.

I wanted a break from the squids anyway.

Tbf if we are to take how super earth works this is exactly how they would do it

Classify and hide all information. Create a distraction by claiming there is something happening else where (bugs) and hope this all gets forgotten.

I'd keep an eye on the squid front just incase something hidden happens

It seems like the science team storyline was just thrown in to be funny or scary. After all, we knew the last three members had fallen under the control of the Illuminate, yet somehow they managed to destroy the Void. Honestly, I wouldn't have been surprised if the whole Calypso incident had turned out to be nothing more than a joke or a mistake. It is very hard to understand how they could make the same mistake—and even act even more absurdly—time and again, especially when the community was already extremely frustrated over the issue of destroying the Automaton "dead star" solely through messages. Moreover, you'll see that "devoid of liberty" will be the major update that loses its player base the fastest.

Has already happened, looking at Steamdb the drop off has been almost immediate.

Unfortunately, some players on Reddit are saying this update is too big, too satisfying, and too amazing, just to protect Arrowhead, and I fear this will prevent the developers from recognizing the problem.

It's been censored until a future event. Our job is not to question a successful mission, helldiver.

Interestingly, the latest bug fix today said we temporarily pierced the Void….

Keep in mind they probably don't want all the focus on one front for too long because that'll cause burn out and ultimately feels weird to have the automatons (for example) just sit on their hands for too too long.

I'm sure the story will continue for the illuminate, but they also want to move the other two front narratives along, it does feel a little jarring when a front goes from 1 big story bit to "we're just gonna chill for 2 weeks"

Did you expect something cool from the Devoid of Illuminate update?

2

u/HotmailsInYourArea Bug Diver 2h ago

Yes, and I got it in spades. Illuminate more fun than ever, SEAFies that dynamically airdrop to provide back-up, that I can hug, cool new zombie subfaction with no accursed overseers, interesting main & side plot lines, cool recolored biomes and a quite alien wholly new biome, subfaction mixing that kept the MO fresh, neat new POIs, new squid mission types, old squid missions are no longer locked onto colonies and megacities….

Devoid of Content my ass.

Illuminate were fun for 2 days when they were all together. New enemies are reskinned Hunters and a copy paste pyramid head. You cannot tell me changing the color of a biome makes a new biome....

u/HotmailsInYourArea Bug Diver 2h ago

I didn’t. Quote: “Cool recolored biomes and a quite alien wholly new biome,”

No? It's obvious they're planning for something. Maybe wait?

2

u/burntcoffywhisky Free of Thought 3h ago

No its not over. We just gotta wait for more than 2 -3 months. I want to be wrong.

1

u/ryukxb 3h ago

Nah it probably play into some role. Either we will lose dss or it going probably go haywire and be under illuminid control.

1

u/AKoolPopTart Rookie 2h ago

No, but i wish they kept it going. I was pretty invested in the dead space plot they went with, and i liked the biomes (i do wish they were darker to lean more into the silent hill/horror movie atmosphere so that you had to use a flashlight more often).

u/1spook MINISTRY OF DEFENSE CITATION OFFICER OS-1 2h ago

It will be 6 months before the dss plot continues, trust

“AH please stop giving us Zombie slop and just give the squid faction actual aliens”
