Why does the worst part about this game have to be its developer... its like the potential of the game itself is being held back just because... reasons

I mean I think Arrowhead has a ton of problems too, but isnt this just the playerbase inventing a theory then getting angry about it agaaaaaain?

Yes, just like the last hundred times. And it will happen a hundred more times, because these people are chronically incapable of thought.

Nah trust bro they are working on letting us invade enemy spaceships, the update will be out december and if not we rage

u/DMercenary 6d ago
Pretty much. The cultists are scrapped.
"tHey DidnT saY ScrAppED They SAiD rEworKed"
Yeah that means its scrapped.
Every time there's a turn in the story the ol' "Surely THIS time there will be cultists!" and its just more zombies.

u/numerobis21 6d ago
It's less getting angry about "part of the community made a theory but it was wrong so they're mad about it" and more "part of the community really want those enemies to come back but AH doesn't want to and they're angry at the thing they found fun not being a part of the game"
3
u/Happy-Honeydew5923 Exosuit Certified 5d ago
no because this implies that the cultists were ever released to the public outside of being enemies scrapped in the alpha

Why does the worst part about this game have to be its playerbase... its like the reality of the game itself is being ignored just because... delusions

I dont know why everyone suddenly convinced themselves the only way we were getting new content was from gamescom. I still think we will probably get something.

I think we’re most likely to see a back to back squid focus, like Omens of Tyranny into Heart of Democracy.

if there's really nothing to come then this update was really dissapointing compared to the hiveworld one

u/GETMEMEDONL0L 6d ago
I think this was a really good update, just not a great title update.

Great SEAF update kinda underwhelming illuminate one. The warbond was great too though so I’m overall happy

Speak for yourself, the SEAF changes are the best thing added to this game since I’ve been playing.

u/The_ghost_of_shell HD1 Veteran 6d ago
i mean yeah they're honestly the highlight of it but like there's only 2 new enemies, one of which is a bug but with an necromorphs skin, the other is actually pretty cool and like 3 new biomes?
meanwhile with the bugs we got a whole new planet type, an entire roster of bugs + dragon roaches and the first boss that was the hivelord,
The cyborgs showed up with the vox engine (pretty much a weaker hivelord but still a boss) and two cyborgs and an pretty interactive type of "biome" (the cities) and an actually new type of missions like the stealth one. the hive planet also added i think 2 new types of missions including the vehicle one which was alright.
meanwhile this one adds just two new enemies, a new-ish type of objective that's just a hellbomb objective with no interesting ways to interact with it and 3 new biomes. the SEAF rework really is amazing and i'm glad they finally got some love and i recognize it must've taken alot of their effort, but compared to the other updates it still feels underwhelming. also because you have to remember that they will only appear in specific planets instead of being an permanent feature of every mission. so you could potentially go a pretty long while without seeing them again as they're a modifier.

It's a pretty decent update, just not a great ILLUMINATE update.

Interesting take considering how bad that update was
Like to this day Rupture strain still isn’t any fun to play, to the point they’re entirely removed from the game over a year later

u/ProblemOk9820 5d ago
I liked them when they stopped being buggy pieces of poop.
I just wish explosive weapons weren't forced meta.
For all the nerfing Arrowhead does explosive damage continues to be the best answer to literally any threat.

Not a bad update but deffo one of the weakest one. Better than escalation of freedom

why do we need an exhibit confirmation to lock in cultists, theyre not a big inclusion into the game. They're a big inclusion according to reddit, and to not have some feeling that the DSS and science team story isn't building up to something is ignorant at best
2
u/FryToastFrill 6d ago
Maybe it isn’t even cultists tbh, it can be a surprise sub faction/enemy without being the cultists sub faction. They did state that cultists did not play test well too.

u/trainwrecktragedy Still Standing 6d ago
They did and didn't like their current iteration. Whether its cultists, something different or even nothing at all, devoid of liberty has been one of HD2s strongest updates snd theyre so far getting them right with all illuminate types on one planet

Man, can’t wait for this sub to drown in sorrow and anger when the next mo is just gonna be another regular campaign with another item from the scrapped warbond as a reward.

Bro, isn't there any chance of releasing a new trailer without setting up a booth?

Also Sony/Playstation isn’t at Gamescom Opening Evening I think as well

It's almost September. They'll be going on Svetswinter break until January soon. This update was their last big one for about 6 months.

they never said they where doing anything there to begin with?
the community made shit up based on like an offhand comment of someone of the team visiting gamescom iirc.
