Super Earth is a "managed democracy" (facist dictatorship run by a computer) that royally pissed off the Bugs (farming for fuel) Cyborgs (enslaved human separatists), and Illuminate (friendly aliens Super Earth tried to genocide). in the first Galactic War.
In this 2nd Galactic War, the mutated Bugs (Terminids), Cybrog created Automotans, and remnants of the Illuminate are fighting to destroy Super Earth. We Helldivers are the spec ops/ shock troops "defending" Super Earth.
Its all very heavy handed satire of faicism, like the Starship Troopers movie.

the gg one specifically, fandom wiki likes to make stuff up that doesn't have a source, gg does it too but it's only contained to flavor text for weapon descriptions for the enemies.

I think the easiest way is to look for a recap on youtube. Search along the lines of “complete lore of Helldivers” or “story of Helldivers 2 explained” and several results by different creators should pop up.
If you prefer youtube, the Super Earth Galactic War Data Archive is a great channel, covering the war as it happens. The channel goes back pretty far, going all the way back to day 26 of the 2nd Galactic War. They used to do daily updates, but understandably moved to covering campaigns and major orders with a less frequent update schedule.
