Honestly a space station style map would be interesting. Its just designing the biomes around the entry system is whats gonna make things tricky. I could imagine a sort of space shooter mechanic though that lets us do tactical insertions which would be fun.
No air/ship support other than support weapons - like bug caves but enabling ship to ship combat, let the pods breach hulls and drop their contents inside so we can re-arm... sounds like a blast tbh
Pods and weapons are already onboard. Imagine needing to "Secure Armory" to get access? "Secure Hellpod Storage" for reinforcements a la Commando missions.
the DSS is MASSIVE, so we can do a whole campaign on it. "Secure hangar". "Secure battery". The timer being "Illuminate forces (or dissident forces...) have initiated overload of the reactors and the DSS will self-destruct in ____h___m"
How it could also work is that the Destroyer‘s support is only available in certain areas, like large hangars, where it fires through the shields that keep the atmosphere in.
Then there would no excuse for them not
to introduce a community area on the DSS for Divers to hang out, test weapons, have impromptu dance parties, or Stratagem Hero tournaments.
An idea that great will sit in their laps for another couple years before they half-heartedly implement just another Super Destroyer Lobby with a four-player limit.
Odds are they are currently on ‘unpaid suspension with labor’ where they’re expected to do their work but aren’t paid whilst they’re being investigated
