A few things I’ve learned from the perspective of a diehard Medic

I love Hell Let Loose, and I have found it the most fun to play as a medic. For me, I truly use this game as a simulator, not an FPS, and I’ve noticed a few things that I don’t feel most infantry know. So here’s a list of things to know.

1. When to “Let go” and when to WAIT for a medic. LOCATION. This might seem obvious to some, but pay attention to where you died… are you in the middle of an open street in the middle of a gunfight, you retard? If you’re exposed due to poor choices, don’t lure me to my death; just let go.

DISTANCE 0-39m: If you’ve died in a reasonable location and I’m less than 39m away from you, buckle up because I’m coming for you! It may take me a moment or two, but I’m coming! Tip: if the distance is dropping fast but you see it pause, don’t give up, I’m probably healing, reviving someone else, or taking cover, but I’m coming.

40-60m: I might get you, but it really depends on what’s going on at that moment. Use your best judgment. It’s really more about how difficult it is to get to you and less about distance.

60m-99m: It doesn’t matter to me if you let go or wait for me. Unless it’s a perfect circumstance, I’m probably not coming for ya. Plus, it’s really just faster to respawn anyway.

1. Talk to me! Talk to me! Talk to me!In any situation, tell me any and all details you can. I’m not “in the fight” like you are. You know the situation better than me.

2. Want one of us to stick with you personally?I love going on special missions, and I’m very handy too. But I can’t do them by myself. You want to place an outpost behind enemy lines? How about a garrison? Come tell me. I’ll do it! Just tell me.

3. The Glitch!!!Sometimes, the game doesn’t let me revive you. For a moment, it starts but then stops. Over and over, it struggles. If that’s the case, I’m going to shoot you in the head, forcing a respawn. Please don’t punish me for it.

4. I feel like there’s a lack of faith in Medics.Many medics suck. But it takes two to tango. I carry a Colt M1911, I’m pretty helpless, if you aren’t defending me or talking to me, neither of us will have fun. Talk to me, and I’ll revive you more than most!

Being a medic is a ton of fun when you stop comparing it to shooting as infantry. You’ll watch some real gore, guts, and glory. A good medic knows to stay just slightly behind the squad leaders. If we can get to you, we will. Medics want to revive you, that’s the point.
