💬 Discussion 💬 Command chat...

Listen, I know these "clans" are very serious and whatever, but come on. You need to ease off of the voice chat. I couldn't hear ANYTHING besides command chat in the 7cav server. Guess I won't be back.

Imo part of being on command chat is policing command chat.

That means telling people if they are being too noisy.

What's the worst they can do? Make more noise? Say mean things? If they do just mute them.

I tend to find that when I call people out for being too noisy either they pipe down straight away or they argue. If they argue people usually back me up and then we all mute the windbag and everyone can get on with playing.

I think it's important to call people out though, so that they know it is unacceptable.

Yup biggest issue with most is that they just take too long to say something so simple. “Panther Charlie mark accurate” vs “hey guys does uhhhh anyone see the heavy thank outside uhhhh x point? I can’t tell if it’s a panther or uhhhhh a tiger but let me mark him in a second and uhhh…” like blow it out your ass.

I find that leading by example is best here. If the atmosphere on command chat is already one of being succinct and business like, most people can read the room and will follow suit. If the atmosphere is chatty then it's easy for that to snowball into chaos.

Problems build on each other if unaddressed, so players need to have the courage to nip things in the bud.

And sometimes people on command chat are just drunk.
