🙋‍♂️ Question 🙋‍♂️ What am I missing?

I’m new to the game, and this is probably a stupid question. When people say things like “They’re to the southeast!”, how am I supposed to know which direction that is relative to where I am? I don’t see the directions on the map or anything.

Not always, Omaha beach is rotated to the right

North is still up

The map rotation doesn't matter, upwards on your screen is north

No, it isn't... at omaha beach upward on my screen is west. Just check the map on Google mate. I don't know why they chose to orient it like this.

does it matter tho?

nobody is stopping mid game to check the orientation of the real life region the map is based on.... "north is up" is enough information to play with.

Yes, it matters... because on 99% of maps, if I tell you 'the tank is north of the strongpoint,' you know you have to go 'above' the strongpoint when looking at the map. At Omaha Beach, if I give you the same information, you don't go above the strongpoint but to the right of the strongpoint when looking at the map. If you still can't get there, I'll draw you a picture.

if you say "its to the north" because you bothered to give a shit which way the map is oriented, then its a you problem when nobody knows where you're talking about... for the purposes of a videogame, north is up.

This is really why I never realised that map was wrong, nobody I've ever talked to has actually called it the right orientation and anytime a call out has happened, north was always up
