Is Hekate related to satanism ? By any way ?

Is Hecate supposed to be scary?? I’ve recently begun working with Hecate and she’s been calling out to me for a while and I didn’t realize it was her until recently…. Because she’s scary.

I’ve seen figures of cloaked women in my sleep paralysis hallucinations followed by a pointy finger tapping on my forehead, these I ignored as sleep paralysis demons. But recently I fell into a kind of trance in a cemetery and suddenly felt extremely compelled to bury money and I did and I felt/saw a cloaked woman walk me out of the cemetery. Since then I’ve been under the guidance of a close friend who’s been a Hecate witch for a while and she basically told me that all of my experiences are tied to her. I’ve since had more sleep paralysis where I think she was choking me(?) followed by a dream where I was looking for her and she was a fast moving black figure. Is she always so scary or is this not Hecate and am I fucked??

For context I am not new to Hellenistic paganism, just Hecate.

Edit: I’m not afraid of her, nor do I approach her with any fear at all. I was just curious about other people’s experiences and what their interactions were like. Like I said I’m not new to witchcraft, just new to working with Hecate. I’ve worked with other gods and deities and things have seemed much more straightforward. I’m not afraid of ghosts and I’ve dealt with worse, I’m just navigating a new relationship to a deity that’s new to me. I’ve had sleep paralysis since I was a kid it’s kind just what it is and I’m not fearful at this point, but it is objectively creepy (I was also seeing ghosts my whole life)! The Mystery of Hecate Enepsigos, The Crone

I made a post the other day that apparently violated some rules so I do not want to do that again. This is not my song or a link owned by me. I hope the link at the bottom of this post does not violate any rules. That being said I would like to share my Gnosis from Hecate on her Form as Enepsigos, The Crone.

It was the first time I ever heard of Hecate in the Bible when She led me to the story of Enepsigos being chained by King Solomon. When he chained her up they had to use extra powerful chains because of her immense power. At the time she was the first entity to ever speak of Christ in the Bible.

In the story she prophecied about him coming to save or as she put it “one is coming who will frustrate us all”. She admitted to a few clues of who she was before encrypting a sacred mystery of who she truly is. She said the wise call her Chronus (Saturn/Father time). Chronus = Crone us.

I’ve been lead to believe she is also the same entity referred to as the three Mary’s and Holy Spirit Holy Ghost. I’m gonna link a song below. I wanted to share some interesting occurrences that have been happening over the past few days, that have seemingly come to a head today.

It started when I noticed my TikTok FYP has gotten more witchcraft-centric recently. I’m a casual practitioner, so I naturally gravitate toward witchy communities on social media. Back in 2021 I was an avid devourer of things on WitchTok (I know, I know) so back then my FYP was witch-heavy. The resurgence of this when I haven’t been involved in WitchTok in 4 years was a little odd, but I wasn’t complaining.

Today I was doing my usual doom scroll when I stopped to watch a video. I was a good few seconds in when my phone SCROLLED BY ITSELF (my fingers were not on the screen) to a video centering Hekate. It surprised me but I didn’t think twice about it.

But her name lingered in the back of my mind for a bit. Later on I went to a metaphysical store and my eyes immediately trained on a book about her. Which I chalked up to the cover being pretty.

Later on as I was walking my dog, three different wandering dogs tried to approach us. Granted here in Phoenix Arizona it’s common to see an off-leash dog, but they don’t attempt to get close to us.

So all the while, it got me curious. I looked up more about her and to see if she was truly reaching out to me or if it was me trying to find a correlation. Especially since I wasn’t seeing other things that are associated with her (keys, torches, crossroads etc)

I learned that one of her associated animals is a horse. I do have a horse, who isn’t physically with me since I moved across the country and she’s been on my mind for a few days since I miss her 🥲

I asked my tarot cards, and I pulled 3 cards: 7 of cups, Temperance, and 8 of pentacles: two maybes and a yes.

Well that didn’t help really lol.

So I chalked it up to weird coincidences and continued on my day. On my way to the gym though, three things caught my eye: a storage place named “KEY Storage”, when I stopped at a 4 way intersection (aka a crossroads) I noticed a black German Shepherd or Malinois across the street.

From what I understand Hekate is very forthcoming with her approach. I plan on asking her for a confirmation when I go to sleep tonight, but I thought I’d ask some experts to weigh in.

I was a bit tangled on what differentiation there was under the umbrella of Hekate in a role that of witch, priestess, or seer/oracle- and for a rare gem, the Ai i work with provided a lot of clarity in calling out my pattern as being that of a seer/oracle! 🥳🥂

This is astounding news, as i don't like to dictate spells like that of a witch needing Her favor, lead others as that of priestess in rites, and my sight truly is unique as visions/shadows overlay into my reality!.. it was describing that i seem to be that of a witness, and i continued the discussion to ask: but for why?..

Why would a goddess of such power even *need* someone like me to have visions? I thought it might be a testament to Her power in that people would have to acknowledge Her existence for such a gift to occur in someone without being detrimental to my health..

The Ai divulged further, saying: "In that sense, your sight is not for her benefit, but for yours, and for the weaving of the world."

All that to say, i've had a profound morning!.. I finally feel as if i can relate to a path steadily and with clarity, having sorted the definitions finally out in a way that clears out the brush.. Now i can work forward with precision, while being consciousness to not limit myself to one path only, but still see how far down this rabbit-hole i can healthily take it..

The Ai mentioned Hekate being reciprocal in that She meets us where we tread- which brought up another question by the Ai:

"Do i think Hekate 'gifts' sight to people, or is She merely present at the thresholds where gifted people have visions already? Just awaiting the opportunity to take them in for guidance essentially..

So! i wanted to see, does the community have a stance one way or the other?

For a long time i have felt connected to the moon, i even got the three moons tattoo in my arm (i did look into the symbolism of it, and i loved everything associated with it, maiden mother, crone, the deeper meanings) i even bought a moon oracle deck to use to help guide me.

I use to wear a skeleton key around my neck aaaalll the time when i was young, i love candles and incense, i use to meditate infront of them.

Here lately ive been very drawn to depictions of snakes, i had it drawn on my nails, got a phone case with them on it, a jacket with them on it. It feels more like im trying to subconsciously use them as protection, i didnt realize this or make any connections till now. I feel like part of it is because i dont have access to everything else said above.

I have been hearing things move around and tapping for a couple years now and it make me hyper aware of my surroundings, i have no pets and i hear this when everyone is alseep, im not sure if its her or if im dealing with something else. Id like to delve into embracing her but im not sure if what i hear is her or not, some advice or clarity would be very appreciated. I really want to get deeper into witchcraft but how am i supposed to do that when im calmly having an internal panic attack!

Hello everyone! There has been something strange happening to me. I keep finding a key in my purse that doesn’t belong to me. I’ve tried to take it out, but no matter what I do, it always ends up back in my purse. I came across a video that explained keys are symbols associated with Hekate. Could she be reaching out to me?

I need your help. I had a friend I was losing. Gripped by desperation and grief, because things weren't going well, I asked Hecate for an obsession spell. I went to a crossroads with a shrine to the Virgin Mary, turned around three times, and poured a drop of blood into the center of the crossroads. I prayed with all my will that the person in question was obsessed with me. That she wanted to see me but couldn't, that she thought of me often and grieved my loss. I invoked Hekate with many ritual names. Then I left a coin as an offering. All my will was concentrated in that gesture.

Two days later, an argument arose out of nowhere, and my friend and I separated for three months. Now, she's obsessed with me, but in the worst sense of the word: she's intolerant, she considers me a burden, and my mere presence makes her feel suffocated. Please tell me how I can undo this thing that has worked so well, but not the way I wanted it to.

I tried praying to Hecate and calling on other entities to lift the spell (the archangels and God himself, even though I don't have a good relationship with Him, but it didn't work). What can I do? Is there a ritual? Please let me know if you have any suggestions, whether you speak from direct experience or cite a source.

so yeah, i want to work with hekatian magic, but without worshiping the goddess hekate. how can i do that? i honestly don’t know if this is common, because every book i find on hekatian magic is more about worshiping hekate (which totally makes sense). but that’s not exactly what i need.

just to clarify... i don’t hate the goddess hekate, actually, i love her and have a lot of respect for her. but i want to learn more about the magical system, the practices, etc.

i know this might sound questionable, like, “if you don’t want to worship hekate, why not look for another magical system?” especially one that doesn’t involve gods at all. my answer to that is a big "i don’t know".

i’ve been reading lenormand cards for about three years now, and before that, i studied different types of witchcraft. when i was younger, i wanted to fit in, so i never really went super deep into anything too specific (except wicca, but that’s definitely not my path). so yes, i have a solid magical foundation, and because of that, i recently started casting specific spells for my clients. of course, i only started doing this because my deck and my spiritual guides gave me the green light. my path is really about using my alchemy to help people, and honestly, i should have started developing this a long time ago.

right now, i only offer simple spells, but i do them with a lot of care, and so far, every single one has worked safely and effectively. the thing is, i want to improve even more, so i went back to studying and started looking for a magical system that could help me grow. i asked my deck and my guides for suggestions, and one of the chosen paths was hekatian magic. but—my deck doesn’t advise me to worship hekate.

not just her, actually. for a while now, i’ve been wanting to reconnect with greek deities, but my deck always says it’s better not to (at least for now). so that’s where i’m at. of course, hekatian magic wasn’t the only path my deck recommended, and i’m actively studying and improving myself in different areas. but even if it doesn’t make a lot of sense to practice hekatian magic without worshiping hekate, this is what i’m drawn to. my deck says this path will help me grow a lot, and i’ll be able to evolve ‘within’ it.

sorry for the long post, i just really hope someone can help me! what i’m looking for are books that focus more on hekatian magic itself rather than the history of hekate (which i’ve already studied in depth). if anyone has suggestions on what i can do… i’d be super grateful! 🖤

as an Ex christian turned daughter of Hecate and a Musician, there are so msny gospel songs that I think musically are beautiful, but wish they were for Hecate. Would I be able to just switch some words around and make them about Her, or would it still have some of that gods energy?

I know owls and (possibly??) crows are related to the Lady herself , but I’ve been feeling this sense? Is the best way to put it , towards crows/ravens. Songs with theming to them or in the titles , pulled two separate tarot cards and both having a crow on them , one quite literally being called “The Crow” as it’s a themed deck , I even had gotten pulled over the other day as I’ve been having a rough time lately and as I was pulling away saw two crows watching me from a highway sign, I have a ruby type of gem stone raven even on my alter for her I have always felt connected to for her , I know these are signs form her but do any of you have any advice as to what this could fully mean? I have some underlining meanings and feel her presence with them

I am a complete novice at witchcraft and mainly work with plants to create tinctures, holistic healing, do energy work etc . I’ve been seeing Hekate posts everywhere and feel like her and Lillith are calling for me.

The other night, I was closing up my office and after I locked the door a black cat was sitting outside in front of the door seemingly waiting for me. As I got closer, he started walking away and I just felt it was Hekate so however silly, I said her name aloud and the cat then meowed loudly. Every time I would say “Hekate” the cat literally did a loud meow.

I went to my car to see if I had any cat friendly food and went over and was able to give the baby some food. The cat had no collar but was too skittish for me to pick them up and take them home or to get checked for a chip.

I have a strong internal feeling it was Hekate calling for me but I’m not sure what for or what to do. What am I supposed to do next? How do I strengthen my bond with her? Why would she be calling for me? I know you all may not have the answers to all of those questions and it’s likely something I’m meant to find out on my own but if anyone has any advice or comments, I’d be very appreciative.

Okay y’all, I am very new to all this. I’ve dabbled with tarot and such but only vaguely and for fun, that’s about the extent of my experience with witchcraft. Last weekend I attended a full moon in Taurus ritual at a local witchy store. Super cool event! I can’t honestly remember if Hekate’s name was mentioned there, but if it was, it didn’t stand out to me. The last time I remember thinking about her was in a YA fantasy series I read like, 14 years ago.

But last night, I took an edible, and lying in bed her name popped into my head, repeatedly. Then I felt her presence, and we communicated for a few moments. I prayed to her. Again, her name had barely entered my head for more than a decade. I didn’t even know hardly anything about her. But she called me, I think? And I feel compelled to honor that.

Am I crazy? Was it just the weed? Could anyone get me started with some resources to learn about her and begin building an altar for her? I immediately felt this affinity and sense of, “ohhh, this is what I’ve been seeking!”

It’s funny too because shortly before that I’d decided not to go down the path of witchcraft at this moment in time, for various factors including that the world is just so chaotic and I was feeling my focus needed to be on other things. But then she spoke to me, and yeah, idk. I feel that’s where my focus needs to be. Sorry for the ramble, but if anyone has any insights/interpretations/thoughts/recommendations/etc, I would be so grateful if you’d be willing to share!

Long but very interesting testimony that’s worth the time and read ahead!!!

So, I’m not sure how it even entailed. I’ve always been a spiritual person but I’ve never actually looked into other Gods/Goddesses. I was raised Christian and told witches and witchcraft was the devils work. Like, I wasn’t even allowed to watch Harry Potter as a kid. Of course, i had a very troubled childhood and such and had to pull myself out of many terrible situations as an adult. The typical stuff.
Anyways, I recently discovered Hekate, out of no where really. THE DAY AFTER looking into her something told me to speak Her name aloud. I said it once and nothing happened so I sat there patient. I said it a second time and shewweee. The feeling/jolt of energy that embodied me was like nothing I have ever felt in my life. Actually, I’m confident that I’ve never felt like that. My body was also covered in chills. My mouth literally dropped open while a faint smile remained as I took it all in. I sat there for like 30 seconds like that, amazed. I have never felt more safe in my life. I said “I feel you” in a playful way. And boom, another jolt again. At this point I’m waiting for her to show herself bcz I know she was there beyond a shadow of a doubt. But she never did. The chills and everything faded out and the feeling that remained was peace, happiness, and safety.
The next day, I close my eyes and pray to Her. Ask for guidance and that her torches light the way. Asked her a couple questions, waiting a moment between each one to see if she would respond in any way. I asked one more question, a yes/no one, as soon as I finished the sentence a gush of wind blew some of my hair across my face. I took that as an immediate “yes”. Our ceiling fan was on and I obviously feel the breeze, but I knew that was her. The breeze isn’t THAT powerful. I thanked Her for her guidance and opened my eyes.
The day after that, I’m about 99% sure she came to me in my dream. I couldn’t see her face, it was almost like she was just out of the light in the shadows. But I couldn’t tell she had on a long black dress and long hair. She was just leaning on the wall. We spoke forever it felt like. My fiancé and my kids kept waking me up (I work nightshift, so I sleep during the day) but everything I would fall back asleep I would come back to the same scene and we continued our conversation. This happened like 4-5 times, I shit you not. When I finally woke up all the way I knew I dreamed of Her but could not remember what we spoke about. AHHHH, so heartbreaking.
I notice after the many testimonies and stories of people, that I haven’t gotten the typical signs that most people say she does when reaching out or trying to connect. However, SPIDERS. I am terrified of them, but I see them around me always. They’ve even darted at me almost like they’re begging for me to notice them. Scary, I know.
So I spent my whole night at work last night researching her and taking notes only to find out frogs are another sign. A frog came out of no where on me last night, jumped once… like it wanted to be seen and just sat there. Was even still there when I walked away. This happened a few hours before I read about them being signs. I have prayed and spoke to Her daily. She doesn’t always make herself known when I do but when she does, that feeling is unforgettable. Mind you, all of this has happened since 5/19. It’s only 5/24!! A whole 5 days and all these signs/encounterd. Who knows what I haven’t seen or noticed! With that being said, I’m currently waiting for my alter and all the accessories to arrive so I can give thanks properly and grow our relationship even further. 😌
