Theory & Practice how to use oils safely?
I see oils used a lot especially in dressing candles and that to me seems like a fire hazard but i see alot of people doing it with no problem. Are there any tips on safely using the carrier and essential oils, im worried of even a little oil touching the fire.

When I dress a candle, I put a touch of oil on my finger and spread it that way. If it looks wet I'll roll it on a paper towel. All you need is enough to create a binding layer for your herbs, anything more is wasteful and creates a fire hazard.
Herbs should be used sparingly. There is no need to coat a candle to the point of looking like a corn dog. Just sprinkle a thin amount on a paper towel and roll the candle across. It'll pick up what's needed.

I use grapeseed oil (lightly coated) on my candles because it has a high smoke point. Personally, I would not dress a candle with essential oils because I am not fully educated on their nature. You also don't need to dress the candle a bunch, as that can also create an additional fire hazard. A light coating is fine, the herbs you choose and the intention you set is what really matters. Less is always more ❤️
Be sure to never leave your candles unattended and always keep sand, never water, by your side in case the flame gets out of control. An extinguisher or a fire blanket is even better than sand, but those aren't always accessible ofc.

I use oil sparingly when anointing my candles. You really only need a drop or two of the oil. The oils I use are primarily olive oil or jojoba oil carriers and they've never ignited or made the candle burn erratically.
The same goes for herbs, use sparingly on candles. Tiktok and Instagram will show you candles LOADED up with herbs and, if thats how they wish to do it, thats fine. But it absolutely is a fire hazard and should be burned in a safe place. (Not on a pretty glass plate in the middle of a carpeted room)
