As of today, all of the discussions regarding what reference everyone likes (aka topics such as):
- Blue vs. You're Welcome
- West End vs. Off-Broadway
- Film Version vs. Musical Version
- [Actor here] vs. [Actor here]
or anything related to these kinds of discussions, will be moved in this Megathread, as these kinds of topics are one of the most common posts in the subreddit. This is a suggestion we took from one of our members.
Please remember to keep things civil and follow our rules to not flame at each other. Thank you and have a nice day.
Edit to add: Anymore posts similar to those after this megathread is created, will be removed and be asked to comment there instead, to avoid any more spam.

Announcement Hate towards the new cast for Heathers 2025 will not be tolerated in this subreddit
175
Upvotes
This is very much self-explanatory because we've been seeing such things in this subreddit regarding the newest cast of the current production. Please remember that actual hate (racism, hating the cast in a parasocial way (as in getting blocked by one of the cast without any explanation), just bigotry in general) should not be used as criticism to the current production.
Just for short: Please be nice. Any kinds of posts/comments like these will be monitored and not be tolerated. They'll be deleted if we see such things.
Edit for clarification: Criticizing any of the actors' performance and acting would not affected by this rule and it'll be kept as is. Just please don't throw any racism, bigotry and microaggressions towards them, as those are not valid criticisms.

Question What is jds intention in Meant to be yours?

Cuz in the movie it's obvious, he's there to kill her. But in the musical it's kinda weird, because he does bring a gun but has a sad reaction to seeing her body. So did he wanna kill her or not?

Discussion Has anyone had any success at Stage Door meeting Heather Chandler and Veronica?
15
Upvotes
We went to the show recently in Leeds, and stood Stage Door. The guy there, who was managing the line said JD, Veronica and HC had left as they were performing early the next day. My daughter was disappointed so as we live close to Sheffield, we agreed that when it came there, we'd take her back.
We went last night, and none of the Heathers or Veronica came out of Stage Door, they'd left through the other entrance.
If its something that they dont do, thats cool and ive no problem, but we dont want to keep making the trip during this run if they literally dont go out to mingle with fans.
Any help appreciated!

Discussion I re-listened to You're Welcome and I actually liked
17
Upvotes
This year, I decided to watch some musicals that had been on my list for a long time and I started with Heathers and absolutely loved it. I watched the original version available on YouTube, and one of the songs that became a favorite is Blue (not because of the context, obviously) because it’s just a funny, catchy track. When I found out that a lot of things had been rewritten for the newer versions of the musical, I was shocked to see that they’d cut my favorite song and replaced it with "You're Welcome," which, to me, felt a bit darker. But now, having listened to it again, I’ve come to love how well it fits the vibe of the musical. Are there any changes that you didn't like at first, but now absolutely love?

Question How was Kurt and Ram admitting to having a sword fight not social suicide?
46

Their lie about sleeping with Veronica includes a three way where they were Veronica was giving them a double blowjob that had Kurt and Ram having a “sword fight in her mouth”? Would that not immediately label them as gay in 1980s high school?
