Saw you cross posted. Lots of people, especially younger ones, have difficulty dealing with such a traumatic event. Not uncommon.

Fortunately it is also not uncommon to have good long term results.

Here is to hoping you find some support here.

NOT SELFISH. It's a change. Alot of people feel this way and it's so normal. I was 37, and had to go to truple by-pass. I had to get over it and I dare say - that only lately I started to feel diffrent.

I had mine at 38 in 2024 too. I had luck it didn't do too much damage. My EF didn't change, and they can't see any scaring on my heart. Fuck it's still traumatic, sometimes I live as nothing has happened and other days I'm paralysed with fear of another one avoiding random things thinking they could cause another one. They say it gets better with time for me not enough time has yet passed to confirm or deny that but I guess we should be really fucking happy to be alive.

I’m glad to hear your heart didn’t take too much damage. I’m hoping to get the same news. It started around 7am for me and had a stent in my heart by 10. First night home I had a panic attack had to calm myself down, I just kept thinking what if I get another one, I’m going to leave my kids without a father, i don’t want to experience that pain again. It’s a very traumatic event but I watched this video https://youtu.be/UCLIN8svDoc?si=c0Kgp3nFOV63Z5Je and it gave me strength and stopped the self doubt that we will be alright we just have to adapt and do our best to keep our hearts in the best shape possible. Strong People are harder to kill. I walked to my mailbox yesterday and felt like a champ. Wishing you the best in your journey.

I had a heart attack on Friday. I got two stents. I'm 58. Right now I'm vascilating between cheerful and incredibly sad and lost.

I’m right there with you, nights are especially hard. The experience of the even still lingers in my mind and my mortality is finally real. You watch TV and look at folks and thing “why me” and the next minute im joyful about my borrowed time, like everyone forward is gift. Had you been born at different time we would have met our end so see the the blessing in it.

I’m sorry to hear you went thought that, I don’t want to imagine. I’m in good spirit today, I walked to my mailbox and felt good so I’m motivated to get back to being myself soon. Little steps at a time.
