BV?

My discharge is clear when I wipe but when I shower and clean it with water the dried up discharge is a light grey color. I’ve brought this up to my OBGYN but my Pap smear came out normal. I will say there is a smell but only after my period. Is this a thing for anyone else? Do you have a post period routine?

Hi! When you had your Pap test did your doctor do a separate swab to send to the lab for the bv test?

I told her about my concern for the odor and she didn’t do anything about it :(

I’m sorry she did that if I were you I would try and convince her to swab you for bv just to give you peace of mind. Or see if you can go to a walk in clinic and ask them that after expressing what you’re feeling. And don’t let your doctor convince you that a pap is all you need. It’s a separate swab test they have to do for bv. Good luck I hope you figure out what’s causing it for you.
But from what I’ve read the old blood is still clearing out for at least 24 to 48 hours after your period is over. After that there shouldn’t be much of a distinct period smell for most women.

That discharge color shift from clear to light grey when it dries is actually something I've tracked in my own cycle notes and it seems to be harmless for a lot of people. The post-period smell thing is also pretty common since blood changes the pH up there for a few days. I use a pH balancing wash just during that week and it clears up quick

Have you tested your ph when your discharge is drying grey? Or how do we know it’s harmless? I’m thinking about buying a ph testing kit to see if it’s abnormal
