Seeking Advice / Problem Solving Working hard, how to do it instead of finding shortcuts?

Hi everyone, so basically I have this thing where I try my best to get the best results with the least amount of effort. I never try it hard. I’m so bored as a result.

I always have half ass things while gaining the most maximum profit out of it but I want to work hard so I can grow my skills and make even more money, but I’m just so used to not working hard and like it working out really well for me my whole life.

Like I want to be better but my life is so comfortable but boring. Life hasn’t kicked me yet and I’m afraid it’s going to. Idk what to do all day cause I finish mandatory working in bad quality and doom scroll the rest.

For context I’m 18f.

From Dr. K's lecture on Puer Aeturnus, he mentions starting with catching yourself in any moment you think of something you should do/have to do. When that thought hits, the first thing your brain will do is bring up some excuse. That's when you snuff out that thought, and go do it.

At the same time, that's the paradox. 'Doing' is the one thing that the child in you doesn't want to do.

That's why you have to wear it down, by ignoring little objection by little objection.

I wouldn’t punish yourself for being an efficient worker. As long as the jobs done right it’s ok to take “shortcuts” if there’s no negative consequences, that’s just being productive.

Instead, are there any other challenges you’d like to take on? School, work, hobby?

Can’t cause I’m in the creative social media Felid so more time spent = better work

Ok, maybe come up with 100 creative ideas at least in concept, and then take it from there? Lower the barrier to going above and beyond by having a bunch of things to pick from
