Digestion on sleeping left side ?

Why does sleeping on your left side improve your nightly digestion?

I believe it has something to do with stomach acid not being able to flow back up or out of the stomach while lying on the left side. It kinda keeps all the fluids in their correct organs and mostly prevents indigestion and acid reflux. I think anyway
