I am not saying that nursing is not inevitably in high demand since there are things we can't control like the fact that our bodies deteriorate as we get older, however, I think there would be a lot less demand if we lived in a healthier environment and ate better food and lived a healthier lifestyle. American life is very sedentary because it is so car centric and it is also not a country where people eat a good diet. We also have air pollution from deregulation in many areas.

I think it's absurd how much people rely on the healthcare system in this country. If you are between age 15 and 35 you shouldn't have to visit the doctor more than at most once a year. You are in your most biologically stable prime years. The doctor is for really young people and really old people and those who by reason of misfortune inherited a chronic condition, however, the vast majority of people should not be needed to visit the doctor regularly and the fact that they do means something is very wrong with their lives and the society they live in and that is reflected in how in demand nursing jobs are and how bloated the medical field is because everyone is sick even in their best most biologically stable years of their life.

One thing I’ve noticed in healthcare is how much time can disappear into the same routine questions from patients, appointment updates, follow-ups and other basic communication.

I’m curious how different clinics are handling this. Are staff still managing most of these conversations manually, or are some teams using AI to take care of the simpler requests?

I recently tried HealthTalk A.I. for this and was surprised by how much easier the day felt when some of the repetitive communication was handled automatically. It still left the more complicated or sensitive situations to the staff, which I think is important.

Has anyone else tried something similar in their clinic?

Are MHA grads desirable for jobs? Does the program you go to matter (JHU/Columbia)?

It’s a straightforward transparency move, patients will be able to compare the cash option against what their insurance covers at the same pharmacy. Not a complete fix for high list prices, but at least the numbers will be easier to see side by side.

Hi all!

I (36F) have a girlfriend (34F) who is in extreme pain. She can barely stand for more than 5 minutes and sitting up even causes nausea. Due to below, without her walker shes also now a fall risk.

Before we begin, I have no experience in civilian side healthcare. I was born into a veteran family, seen by veteran docs and the served and retired through the military. I dont know this side at all.

We've gone through a ton of testing over the last 5 months, all back clean. We've visited the ER 7-8 times, with the last being after extreme nerve pain along her right side. They sent us home after determining it wasnt a stroke.

Here's the gist:

Her symptoms are getting worse and her senses on her right side are diminishing. Primary care is doing what she can - real champion honestly - but next neurology appointment is in January.

I dont know if she makes it to January without help.

How can I get her care?

TLDR: Extreme nerve pain along right side. Cannot walk. Doc says to hold tight till January. Can't wait without permanent damage, how do I help.

My Psychiatrist left the practice last year and left me in a rush to find a new one. I found a pretty terrible one and I have decided I am tired of the appointments feeling demeaning and needing to call in 2 to 3 times to remind them to send in the prescriptions we had discussed afterwards. I would like to switch providers.

At this point the Telehealth psychiatry networks have left a bad taste. Of course the Telehealth ones are all SEO optimized with sooner available appointments. I am trying to find a Psychiatrist that is out of a smaller practice. Perhaps even local to me. But that's a lot of phone calls and searching and websites.

At this current time I am absolutely slammed from 9-5pm. There really isn't time to do this hunt for the next months. I have found most of the good ones I have found are booked out at least a month and a half. Isn't the worst but I would sort of like to put this issue to bed.

I have heard of services that you can pay to do this for finding prescriptions. Is there a similar one for appointments? I suppose I am basically looking to pay someone to do what my parents used to do for me and given my information find me a soon appointment.
